Cavalry charge > Sauron - Balrog - Trolls

I just wanted to share the power of the cavalry charge. I notice people have trouble with high HP units such as these but it can be a breeze (with lots of micro management) with the mighty cavalry charge.

Sauron get's the One Ring

. Me is crapping my pants so I send a 1/2 stack of elite High Elven warriors to help Gondor. Sauron sieges Minas Tirith. Gondor sallies

army forth and drags me with them. I'm like "WTF!?! I don't want to fight Sauron on the field

" So the battle starts, I enter the map (I'm the reinforcements). I decide to go for broke and charge Sauron with my Eldar Cavalry...Sauron dies in one shot

. I won the battle after Gondor bum rushed Mordor but the 2 other Saurons were a pain to kill. I just cavalry charged the **** out of them.

I had a similar experience when facing the Balrog. I charged the **** out of him with 3-4 cavalry units and the Balrog slowly died. A lot better then sending melee units in loose formation or shooting a billion arrows at them.

I also find the best way to kill Trolls is a cavalry charge. They fall pretty easy this way.

Javelins work better, and you usually loose less men with them, but I agree that a well formed cavalry charge is very usable

Hmmm... I am now at the gate of moria. I seiged them. And the Balrog awakened. He is with the army of moria, inside. I wondered about moria and I got the battle, there were 4-Balrogs somehow(I am playing "normal" unit scale). I looked to moria and quit then. Now I am thinking how to defeat balrog. This tactic will work bec I have 7 general and 5 more cav. units...Yes I am rohan

What kind of cavalry? The Riddermark Skirmishers are useful

They are useful about their javelins... But he is talking about charging. As he claims, charging(contact!) works fine. So we should try with rohirrim at least...i think...

Sure, but use your javelins first. It will save you lots of men if you manage to kill one of the balrogs without having to charge them

If I have Riddermark Skirmishers, i will try, promiss

But I can't recruit them now. There are very steep hills around moria at battle field. I will move the top and charge

When they try to break siege...

That's right, javelins have armour piercing and tools big armoured units. Especially javelin cavalry. I totally forgot about that. But I believe not all units who use javelins have AP. Snaga skirmishers don't (they'd be uber if they did).

I just wish javelin cavalry had more ammo...maybe I should go edit a few files in my Rohan game.

I am still thinking why there are 4 balrog in my battle(which should be 1)... I think it is almost impossible to win...There are other units already(anasınısatayım...!)

turkcem var ama zor bide yavas okumak.

All someone would have to do is add ap to the snagas to make them rip everything apart. I'd feel sorry for the dwarves.

I believe Syanur that on the largest unit scale the Balrog becomes 4. I was surprised too when I when fought multiple Balrogs.

i get it to "defeat" the balrog as high elves. i had only four militia swordsmen.. and four bowmen companies. and yes two generals on horses with gold experience.

i put the attention of the four balrogs at my infantry and attacked with my two bodyguards... fight through their army... into the mountain.. capture the point ... waited four minutes and then took moria without killing the balrog

Sanagas are cheap, economic and more(in number) than most missile units. So if they have ap, they really do good job! I think the present cond. is fair enough

And the bug is number of Balrog. You can try it at custom battle, he comes 1 in normal, 2 in large and 4 units at huge unit scale. Thats why I was expecting 1 balrog at my camp.

It is a huge city(moria) and very rich/valuable city...I would like to take it somehow...It will give me great boost for both econ.&military. But I have to say, the idea of "awaking balrog" is just great! I liked it...

I didn't look carefully that they left the main area or not... May be I will try this if they stand out of the main area but still I would like to see Balrog fall in front of my general-Eomer!!!

He got 3th gold exp. already (turn 18)
