    Default Duke of Dublin?

Hey guys! This is my first time playing SS and I have to say it frickin' blows my mind. Like...you don't understand...it BLOWS my mind...So,anyways, I have a question. I started the late campaign and chose England as my faction. I noticed that the general stationed in Dublin received the title " Duke of Dublin" After the first turn and this too frickin' blows my mind. So I would like to know if you guys can give me some more info on this? If he dies will someone else automatically get the title? He has a Irish name and I like that but he is not a family member so when he dies how can I get another Irish guy( Since he won't have kids, right)"? And just anything concerning this "duke" stuff would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks.

if you have a general in a city for a turn he will get a title for that city if no one else has one for that specific city. The general must also not already have any city titles. But to answer your question, once the person dies you can send another general or family member to the city for a turn and they will get the title. You can also hand it over to another one while the one holding it is alive by having the general in question in an army with another general and dragging the icon to the other general. This may cause the general that lost the title a little upset though.

It is not automatically given to another person, you must go to the city once he is dead to get it for another person or just swap it. You can make him a family member if you have him win a non-seige battle it might ask if you want to adopt him. Also you can send one of your princesses to him to marry, it should be 100%. Otherwise than that, the names are quite random depending on the faction.

sorry if this makes no sense, im quite tired XD

A general will only get upset if he is stripped of all his titles. I got into the habit of using my faction leader to pick up titles and then hand them out - he can't get the trait Stripped of Titles which gives a loyalty penalty (only -1 Loyalty, but that can mean all the difference in some instances). The best thing to do is to always make sure any general passing a title to someone else is still left with a title, or if you don't wish to lose all those titles when a general dies, make sure he's old and retired (not traits - beyond a certain point, it is prudent to stop using a general and allow a younger man to take his place), and the penalty to his Loyalty won't be that bothersome.
