I think he's not on the family-tree because he is not a family-member, but a "General" like the starting-generals of the Holy Roman Empire in M2TW.
Eriador has two family trees, one is Aragorns and one is Halbarads. It's cause if you play Gondor, Aragorn will spawn from Eriador, and Halbarad becomes king. Gandalf is in Halbarads tree![]()
Second thread about exactly the same topic in one week. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=523652
Is there a similar situation with the Silvan Elves family tree, I was trying to add Celeborn into the tree and it kept coming up with an error (even though I had made sure his age was set correctly with relation to the rest of the family)
How did you try to add him?
I tried to make him faction leader![]()
how do you do that? and can the faction heir be changed without killing him?
1. In descr_strat you change the family tree.
2. Baron Samedi's submod does I think so it should be possible.
thanksis it still possible to change it within a savegame or must i restart?
Do what? descr_strat is only read on the start of the game so that is not save-game compatible and I highly doubt the other thing is save-game compatible.![]()
ok thanksdidnīt know that . then i have to kill my current faction heir

I always thought that Man of the Hour was only for captains, basically 'promoting' a captain to a general (essentially just creating a new general). Was it actually Gandalf, Elven Warrior, or just some guy named Gandalf? It does seem odd that a character who already belongs to a family tree can be adopted into another one.![]()
Man of the Hour is also for generals not in the family tree
it was actually gandalf and he joined halabrads line and is having children.
