Default Hidden units in Medieval Total War 2

Hi. I would like to know what units are hidden from production and their relevant buildings (So I can add them to their associated descriptions). Mainly concerned about England. Also I would love to add the dismounted version of

This is for Vanilla and yes, I'm aware I need to unpack before attempting to locate the files of which I need to edit.

Must be one of those hidden units you speak of.

I take it that you mean which units aren't available for production until certain buildings exist?

The "recruit" lines in export_descr_buildings.txt show you which buildings provide which units.

Or perhaps this site would be quicker: http://totalwar.honga.net/faction_bu...m2tw&f=england

EDIT: oh, and the tutorials section has one on making dismounted units.

Sorry, I meant the dismounted versions of Crusader Knights (merc recruits), I tried before however I wasn't successful. And no, I meant the units that can't be built at all and what their relevant buildings would be. For example, I wouldn't be able to normally recruit Mounted Longbowmen for England so how would I edit the descr file in order to make it available and would I need to add it to a building in order for me to recruit it in the campaign?

So, just to clarify, I want to know which units I cannot normally build (recruit, whatever) for England mainly and which buildings would enable me to build them if I were to modify the descr file to allow me to build them - yes I understand I was a bit ambigious in the original post - or if they aren't assigned a building, then perhaps I'll just use my own inference and assign one myself.

Also, what's up with the Sicilians having NORMAN Knights? Shouldn't they be exclusive to Normandy and perhaps the English?

You can choose whatever building you like to recruit them from.

I can't remember if Mounted Longbowmen are real units or not. So I still can't tell whether you're talking about units that don't exist at all or units that only exist as mercenaries or belong to another faction.

Either way there are tutorials on these things. Creating new units, bringing them across from other factions, etc.

I'm talking about units that aren't present in recruitment but are still available to a faction, the Mounted Longbowmen I recall are awarded after a certain mission for England but I cannot normally recruit them. I know there are tutorials to create/add/etc units/factions/etc, that's not what I'm asking for. I just wanted a list of the units that are available to a faction but of which I cannot build (so then I can locate them in the file and add them to the game) in the campaign.

Easy to find out it takes two steps. First step start a custom battle make one faction the faction you'd like the list for, write down every unit name you see offered for that faction in the custom battles. Step 2 start a campaign as that faction and use the building browser to find out which of those units you can recruit and cross them off the list created in step 1, the units left at the end are the one that are available to the faction but aren't currently recruitable.

But that doesn't exclude those that are not available in Custom Battles and are also not recruitable within the campaign.
