London 2012 - Why won't they reveal ticket sales?

The organisers of the London Olympics have been accused of damaging public trust and causing “suspicion and anger” by being needlessly secretive about ticket sales.

A committee at the London Assembly said that the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has withheld key information about how it has priced tickets to this summer’s games and has refused to share details of sales with the public.

Dont get me started on the Olympics!!!
What a waste of tax payers money, and with the current economic climate and with over 2.67 million people unemployed in the UK etc...the Olympics should be the last thing on our minds as the money spent building all the stuff needed for this event could have been spent on getting this country back on track! the olympics its a complete joke!!

Get this bloody country back on track, before it implodes!!

Inflated prices and deflated interest is my theory.

The average Joe on the street (read me) couldn't care less. In these times, I'd venture most people think it's an unnecessary expense that has now cost £10bn and is becoming ridiculously secretive.

We have better things to spend money on and this is becoming farcical...

The tax payers pay for an event that is designed to pleasure the elites from around the world. That probably has something to do with not releasing the ticket prices.

as for olympics: i was going to purchase some hockey tickets (i play hockey) but the cost of the buggers for no guarantee of which game ur going to see was absurd to me. so i plan to just roll on down when its in full swing and grab some - i doubt they will be full.

Seems a waste of time and money for London and British tax payers; if you had the World Cup preceding it or just after, you could have synergized the expenditure.

Lets hope the spectacle does not end up as a white Elephant of debt.Although I see Union Carbide owner,s are helping out.
If the games are to break even with reasonable ticket prices. Perhaps they should get the Tobacco and Alcohol industries to sponser events.
