Which faction are you talking about exactly? The fact is that most of these countries had stark differences between the written language(s) , the vernacular of the people, and in many cases even the vernacular of the leaders. Coupled with the fact that we're talking about hundreds of years of history, you're going to find many "correct" answers that are equally viable depending on context.
Well feudal knights is obviously a generic name in more than one way. I would imagine not many knights belonged to any specific "unit" if you know what I mean. A knight was a knight.
Of course, I could be wrong...
