Default PASSED 08.06.06: fatsheep for civitates (patron: Tacticalwithdrawal)

    fatsheep for Civitate.

    Patron: Tacticalwithdrawal
Discipline: He has a clean record

    Examples of his posts:
Fatsheep's First After Action Report (AAR)
    Computer Maintenance Guide
    Speeding up XP's Bootup
    Recommended Links

    His modding activity:
    Fourth Age: TW
    Siege Mod

    His paragraph:
Ever since I first started posting at the official total war forums (totalwar.com) back in 2003, I've started branching out into the various communities and been pleased at what I've discovered. TWC has been one of these communities.

My first experience with this site was when it was known as legiontotalwar. At the time it was hosting the Time Commanders TV Show videos. Rome: Total War wasn't released yet so I think all of us Medieval players were amazed to get a first glimpse of Rome in action. The graphics and animations were absolutely stunning compared to Medieval's 2D sprites. Then Creative Assembly sued legiontotalwar and so it was renamed to twcenter.net. Unfortunately for me, the time commanders videos disappeared.

Enough with my boring history, let me introduce myself to all of you who do not know me. I've been in the Total War community for several years now so some of you may have heard of me already. Like most of you I am a huge fan of the Total War series. Ever since I first played Medieval I've been hooked. Many of you may know me as the founder and spokesmen Fourth Age: Total War Modification Project. I am not a great modder but I am proud to be part of and assist such an amazing project and the many talented individuals that work on it.

Others of you my know me as a moderator of SCC, a fellow Total War community. Still others of you may know me from my activity in the basement. I am a technical guru. I have never and will never buy a computer and thoroughly enjoy the challenge, gained knowledge, and saved money of building a my machines. As I have learned more and more about computers and their operation I have felt inclined to help and teach others not as technically inclined. I have written a couple articles in the basement with this purpose and do plan to write many more in the future.

I am both proud and honored to be a contributer to the various TW communities and if the members of the Curia see fit, I would like to extend that to TWC. A civitate is a mature member who contributes to the site. These members represent the site and are expected to behave accordingly. I fully understand this as a long time moderator of a fellow Total War community.

Furthermore, this is no added responsibility for me. I feel this obligation whenever I step into this site or any other. Only now the duty is not only to myself but to the administration of the site. I take great pride in treating all members fairly and patiently. I am slow to anger and not easily offended, lashing out in anger against other members is totally contrary to my personality.

I also understand the obligation to contribute to the site. I will do this with the various articles I write, the projects I undertake, participating in the curia, helping fellow my members, as well as everything and anything I post. This is a great place to come to discuss and debate Total War, technology, and life in general. I intend to help continue this legacy by participating in and creating discussions on the forums.

As a civitate I will feel the obligation to contribute to the site. I will do this with the various articles I write, the projects I undertake, participating in the curia, helping fellow members, and everything and anything I post. I respect TWC for being a community full of knowledgeable, mature, and friendly members and I will be honored to serve as civitate among you.

    Thank you for your consideration.
    mine:

fatsheep is a consistantly helpfull and productive contributor to the basement, which is where I first saw him. He provides good answers where he can and, very importantly for a 'techie', he admits when he doesn't know the answer. He has shown a real ability to provide good technical resources to those of us who are not so technical and is always helpfull and friendly when asked daft questions. As if that wasn't enough he is a major force in the Fourth Age mod and has contibuted several other mini-mods to the RTW community.

Even though he moderates at SCC, he wants to increase his input on this site and contribute further. I think he is exactly the kind of technical person we need on this site and would commend him to you all

Paragraph? That's a lot more than a paragraph
Anyways, I reviewed him when Tac forst told me about him... his CC posts aren't great, to be honest, other than in the Basement, but I'd still in the end say he was worth it due to outstanding Basement and modding activity.

Thanks Tac... I will add a poll after a bit of discussion.

I know fat sheep and the first adjective I can think of is helpfull. He is a moderator on another site and a very cheerfull and good humoured guy.

I have tried to find a negative, except for spending much time in the basement, which there is nothing wrong with anyways a definite yes for me.

yeah, he's very basement/TW focussed but reckons that civitates would give him a reason to get more involved throughout the site, which he is keen to do.

This votes reminds me of Sinuhet, getting through on posts is questionable, but will pass because of his mod work. I will be voting for.

I don;t think there's a rule anywhere that says you can't vote for your own client? I thought we know were?

If not, just take my vote off

Yeah in the patronization act it says "Members must abstain from voting on those they wish to patronize.". I think it was at one point going to be something like members cannot patronise, but that would be a bit harsh on the staff members.

Now thats just stupid, that rule should be removed immedeately. Think about this long and hard, if you are to patronize a client, wouldnt you think that since you are patronizing the person you would think he is worthy to vote yes? That is just one yes vote and people almost always win or lose by vast majority.

Yea, poll now, so I can vote yes...

I kind of like the patron not voting, I always thought it was weird in staff, but I wouldn't die if it was removed. Bring it up in the proth...
