Pirate wars (for lack of a better title) ooc

Should have made this a long time ago.

So Sonke is the Romans, Shadow is the Pirates, and DS is the mod. Can I get a status update on this please? From what I can tell the pirates hold no more territory, but have several ships left that are being engaged by the Roman fleet?

I haven't invaded Cyprus nor Crete, but I just destroyed the Pirate fleet. That is why I asked the Imperium: to invade Cyprus and Crete.

Wouldn't it prove to make more sense to construct a new temple complex over the altar to Mars? Its nearby and it would lessen the work load, Quintus.

The altar will be brought inside the temple, Decimus. The engineers and surveyors found the ground here more stable, and also this larger area will allow the temple to be upgraded in the future, the altar was confined in the middle of the city.

The temple was coming along nicely. Imported pink marble had been shipped from Greece for the inner columns. The roof was complete with the finest terra cotta shingles. The artisans were painting the outside reliefs with the most vibrant colors of the day. This temple would please Mars very much.

After over a year of construction, The Temple of Mars Ultor was finally complete. It overlooked the Campis Martias from the northeast. The finest pure white marble was used, with eight columns on the front and each side. The relief facing the Campus was of Mars and Rhea Silvia and their twin suns Romulus and Remus. Inside the temple, pink marble columns were interlaced with statues of Mars in his various conquests. The altar had black marble pillars topped with a white table. The "Spear of Mars" was on the wall behind the altar. When this spear was noticed to have moved it meant War was near.

Quintus Valerius inspected the whole temple and was very pleased. After the victory over the Gauls and with the another war against Spain underway, he knew Mars would have to be appeased more than ever. The gladiatorial matches that would be held in Mars' honor would certainly help, but appropriate sacrifices would have to be made. Hopefully, pristine bulls and rams would be offered, some lack senators never seemed to offer the best they had. This magnificant temple would hopefully make them think twice.
