shouldnt this be in the technical forum, well uninstall the game and put 1.6 on first becsaue it contians 1.5 with it

Gold edition comes with BI 1.6 and RTW 1.5, you cam't patch it anymore, as it comes with the latest patches.

In the Gold edition (I don't have it, but I've heard references to it so much that I'm certain of this) RTW is patched to 1.5 and BI to 1.6.
This is how the patches go...
1.0 is vanilla RTW.
1.1 and 1.2 are the original patches for RTW. 1.2 does not require the 1.1 patch.
1.3 for RTW came out just after BI for those who didn't want BI. This 1.3 patch requires no previous patches.
BI is 1.4, it auto-patches RTW to 1.3.
1.5 is for RTW for those who didn't want BI. It requires the 1.3 patch.
1.6 is for BI, it auto-patches RTW to 1.5. It requires having BI 1.4.
The Gold Edition comes with RTW 1.5 and BI 1.6 - no patches needed whatsoever. All the work is done for you. You lucky person.
