    Default "Failed to find steam"

    I am playing RS II with RTW - gold. Im playing a one-turn Pergamon campaign.

    Today I wanted to play so I started RTW through Steam (like I always do) and I get a "Failed to find steam".
    I didn't change anything to my game, I just get this random error I have never seen before.

    Anybody knows how to fix this?

    There seems to be a number of reports of this 'failed to find Steam' error message. They also appear in the Eras Technical Help part of the forum.
