    Default Seams on unit faces

I've noticed that some units have seams or other graphic glitches.

For example, levy spearmen, Peltastoi, have a light seam on their faces. Byzantine Spathatoi and Stratatoi have noticeable seams on some of their faces.

These are minor graphical issues, true, but it's somewhat noticeable. Will these be looked into with future BC patches?

Those were Caesarean sections gone wrong, and they're very sensitive about that, thank you very much.

Well, sensitive or not it looks sloppy. Will they be fixed anytime soon? Like in one of the new patches?

the rohan and eriador factions had the same problem in TA... until 2.0 I think. So I doubt they will be changed in BC, not that I really noticed them

The higher your graphics settings are, the more noticeable these kinds of things become. It's not up to par for a mod of this caliber to have those defects on unit skins. I thought they were leftovers from vanilla. In any case, I do believe BC is still looking for unit makers and skinners, who could help with these little hiccups.

I have played it on max settings for years and only just realized this texture problem, it's not really noticeable unless someone points it out for you.

I couldn't disagree more. We probably have different play styles. If you're the kind of player always admiring your units and inspecting them closely during deployment (the most important phase in battle) and zooms in often to see what's going on you're going to notice real quick.

However, it may also be a matter of resolution and other graphical variables too. Playing on max settings on a monitor from 5 years ago is much different from playing max settings on a 1080p widescreen monitor from today, you know? Not that you are on one or the other, but you see my point I'm sure. There is a vast difference there. I am playing on the latter, hi-def, all settings maxed except AA. My AA is only on 2 iirc... maybe I'll up that and see what happens, but I doubt it will remove that seam.

I have a friend who barely ever looks close in on battles, it is not an aesthetic activity for him. He plays from as high up as possible 90% of the time, only rarely moving the camera in more, and almost never in close up. He would never notice someone's face. A guy could have a banana hanging off his moustache and he'd not notice. That's not how I play, I get in close.

I still think it's a minor issue but it should be easy enough to correct for the mod team... there will be new units in 3.0 so I am sure one of the unit designers can take a look.

So, can anyone from the BC team confirm whether these seams will be taken care of in the 3.0 patch?

That's not one of our main concerns and honestly, I can't recall a similar complaint has appeared in last two years.

We may work on improving those flaws, but that's nothing certain.
