Elven Immortality?

I was playing as the High Elves, when I suddenly got a message that Elrond has died of natural causes. What?! Elrond, one of the firstborn, 6,000 some odd years old, dies of natural causes?! I was shocked, and really frustrated, because he was an amazing general in my game; so does anyone know how i could increase the age at which generals die? (it seems to be 120 right now)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

In descr_campaign_db.xml in Third_Age_3/data. Pretty self explanatory file.

a.k.a game engine limitations.
No one may be immortal and any changes in life span will affect all factions, so no special elven treatment.

But we all know Elrond just jumped into the boat and gave up ME (an evil tainted, crappy, ugly place) to go to Aman of natural causes either way!

This actually makes me curious...Would there be any way to change the death message for elves to instead say that they grew weary of Middle Earth and departed for the Undying Lands?

It already says that... just take the time to read!

(Though the title of the event still is "natural death", maybe that can't be changed without changing it for everyone)

Afarid not. It seems to be in the stat.txt (in data/text) and do not look to be possible to be altered into culture-specific but would affect everyone

you could make all the elves younger... since the ages are not even possible to make lore correct, wy not make them younger

They are fine as they are Elrond in every campaign if not killed he will live up to 100 or a little more and that's allot.

It's pretty hard to die of old age in the game is you start of young

You have two be careful changing elronds age though, He has kids which means he has to be a a certain amount older than them, or it will crash.

Are you sure about that? As you can adopt children of any age I would think that it doesn't matter

Yeah I am sure about it, their is a tutorial about family trees that explains it all pretty well, natural born children are different than adopted. The tutorial is by GrneydDvl I think. the age difference has to be at least 16 years.

His kids must be some kind of Zeus, they grow in 1 year like others in 10

Perhaps finding the core-reason may solve the problem. It shouldn't be much difficult after that.

It can be divided between elves and humans, but without knowing the core reason, what we are saying will be definitely meaningless.
