    Default Traitor to our people

Is there any way to reduce the incidence of traitors? Does one of the mods increase the incidence from vanilla and if so can I edit the mod to dampen the effect? At the moment it is the only thing in this superb mod that is spoiling the experience for me.

PS: I am not interested in having the king fight repeated battles to increase authority or to build forts every go as this does not feel authentic (at least to me) to the medieval period.

My French Kings Authority is zero, he's also as mad as a brush. About a 1/5 of my Generals have got the "Rebel" traits, and a couple have got the "You are not my King" trait, which makes them unusable. Half of the rest are thinking of treason, the other half have got the "Obedient to there Leige" trait.

Oh and Toulouse is being Crusaded again.

Its like half my Empire has sided with the Papacy, the other half with the mad King.

    Seriously, its pretty awesome.

sounds like you deliberately kept your king authorityless for the fun

I didn't even try, my royal family has really gone down hill, there all dangerously mad, wildly extravagant, plus saddled with plenty of other negative traits. Added to that most of my generals have the "Dishonored" trait, and have really low loyalty, not sure why.
I guess it must be linked to the Kings Authority.
When ever I play the Byzantines its the opposite, there swimming in great traits.
Not that I mind, it does pretty accurately reflect Feudalism in western europe!

Yes I am using BGR. What tends to happen is when I get a succesion (new king) he has low authority and I am unable to do anything for a number of turns as any army with or without a general will rebel when it leaves town/castle. I don't want to micromanage the royal family and would prefer to reduce the whole authority thing instead.

    Any ideas?

Succesion should be a rare event, unless you like to play kamikaze with your faction leader(s).

When your king dies it takes a couple turns before things settle down. I never had much issues with rebelious generals at those times. Just keep those with low loyalty inside settlements and those with high loyalty in the field. Single units also have a much lower chance to rebel. It can be helpful to split your armies into single units - although it does require a little micro-management - losing only one or two units through rebelion is preferable to losing entire armies.

You can also use these events to your advantage. It's a great way to get rid of crap family members who might be blocking (the birth of) new (hopefully better) ones.

What tends to happen is that people don't read the instructions to the things they download and then they complain. In the wrong forum, no less.

Many thanks to those of you who have tried to help, but to k/t who felt the need to be an insulting jerk - please go and irritate someone else.

I have read the BGR guide and I know of all the actions noted above. I am not complaining about the mod, I am asking if there is a way to adjust the mod to make it a better experience for me. It seems like the answer is no.

Theres clear instructions about how to mod BGR to your liking in his thread. Reading it helps.

I love the way BGR can really ignite a campaign like this. Dealing with what, for all intents and purposes, is a civil war whilst dealing with the problems of cross border campaigns is a phenomenal indictment to the playability of this mod.

If you don't want to be "irritated", don't post in the wrong place and irritate us first.
