    Default Can a trait be removed from the files??

    Hi, i'm wondering if it is possible to completely remove a trait from the export_descr_character_traits or whatever files.. Its the Arse trait, although not so often, each time i have some general with this annoying trait it pisses me off with respect, i don't want Gay generals in my empires lol.

    Probably best to just comment the triggers out using this symbol ;

    it will be easier incase you want the trait back.

    It can be completely removed but you would need to also removed any references to it. e.g. campaign_script (CS) and descr_strat (DS) might be trying to give it; CS, EDCT and export_descr_ancillaries might be using it as a trigger condition; EDCT might be using it as an anti-trait.

    So yeah, just removing its triggers is simplest. But also check CS and DS to make sure that they aren't 'manually' handing it out.

    tnkx alot mate + rep in fact i thought about the anti-traits but i haven't touched them yet. Also i wasn't aware that the export_descr_ancillary might trigger it aswell.

    EDIT: ok i tried removing the arse trait & its triggers, but when i went back playing , although it didn't crash, i noticed the general's traits all mixed up, like the faction leader with princess traits or other generals with priest traits so i put back the back up files again. I will have to remove the trait evrytime i see it via console... It was Worth a try tho

    You're welcome.

    Not trigger it: used as a condition for an ancillary trigger. e.g. "if has Arse trait then aquire Arse Medal ancillary".

    EDIT: but there is a connection between ancillaries and traits is there not? I read it ages ago and have never been able to find it again. Something along the lines of an ancillary trigger can also give traits, or vice versa.

    In a saved game? Changes to EDCT aren't save game compatible.

    Traits can be given in EDA, ancillaries cannot be given in EDCT.

    Not entirely true. Modifying a trait, adding a trait after the last trait, any trigger changes are all save game compatible. Removing a trait, re-ordering traits is not save game compatible.

    Thank you! I just checked the EDA wiki page and sure enough there it is. I have been blind all this time.

    The strangeness was probably due to that, yes.
