Hello guys i am playing with Grand Duchy of Kiev in the Late campaign and something really weird has happen incredibly Russia has manage to rape the Cuman Khanate and is Holding its ground against the Golden Horde of course just a small fraction because 80% of their armies are in the south finishing the Khwarezmians and invade the island of the Baltic sea Visby i think.I have manage to secure and uneasy alliance with Russia while i invade the Cuman territories of the south (Sakel , ect) but i know i will have to someday rise against this GIANT Russian empire that keeps rising soo any tactics or recommendations for my inevitable invasion to the Russian Heartland in the future or just let the Mongols finish them when they begin to invade the north. I'm at turn 50 in H/VH and just the permanent watch towers and arrows and Longer assimilation.

@Rakoua i will have to go with guerrilla warfare their military is to strong for my armies to push to their lands without great losses. Once their military is cripple but my guerrilla warfare i will strike

Good luck with that, since novgorod has the annoying ability to spam out rus militia's out of their town like they're cupcakes from an oven. Why not let them absorb a few more hordes while you nibble away land in the balkan?

Something similar is happening to me in my Kiev campaign too, Novgorod is absolutely huge and is pushing on me and the Mongols. Send some spies and discover weak points, and prepare a few armies to take them, and then turtle against their inevitable counterattack. You'll wear down their military strenght eventualy.

hit their military outposts first and foremost....the novs always rise big in my campaigns also....let them have their cities but take out their castles...

Well I found scots overrun hwole Holy Roman Empire.. This is what i love in Total War`s, you never know what happends, and EVERY campaign is different.
