Default Is there a way to disable AoR but keep RR?

I love the RR system as it is now since it slows gameplay down a bit and keeps all the factions on basically the same level technologically on any difficulty level. However I can't stand the AoR system for the most part, and I looked at the options and there wasn't a separate toggle for both of these functions.

It's kind of frustrating that I can't recruit much of my faction's units in a place in a different region, or even in the same-ish region. One of the most frustrating cases of AoR I've come across is playing as Portugal and I take Granada, but I can really only recruit the peasant and Moorish units there with AoR enabled even though it's still in Iberia. But I'm not willing to disable AoR if it also means disabling RR, since keeping the technological pace of advancement in check is more important to me than getting the most out of my castles.

Do you have BGR on? If you do you will have to convert the population to Catholicism first. The required peercentage is between 70-90 and this is dependent of your faction's zeal level.

No I don't have BGR on since I want to keep the experience a little closer to vanilla. I'm talking about the Area of Recruitment which is tied to the Real Recruitment option. I like having RR on with the unlocking the later units with the historical event pop ups. But the Area of Recruitment is what I want to turn off since I don't like how when I start conquering in Africa for example, I can really only recruit castle troops such as knights but all the barracks, stables, and archery range units are all the Muslim Moorish units even though all these African regions are going to be 99% catholic as I have them under my control.

From what I can tell, there's no way to disable Area of Recruitment without also disabling Real Recruitment, but I want to keep Real Recruitment enabled.

You would have to go to export_descr_buildings and manually edit all the units you want to be available anywhere on the map. An example is this
    recruit_pool "Armats" 1 0.13 1 0 requires factions { spain, england, portugal, } and event_counter new_era_begins 1 and not event_counter pike_and_shot 1 and hidden_resource aragon or hidden_resource france or hidden_resource denmark or hidden_resource spain or hidden_resource norway or hidden_resource england or hidden_resource hungary or hidden_resource poland or hidden_resource portugal
In this example the unit is Men at Arms. First make sure it is describing a unit by the faction you wish, in this case Portugal, then you would add "or hidden_resource moors" to the end.

Or you can delete everything after pike_and_shot 1

What does RR has do to with BGR???They are 2 totally different things.Any way you don't have do do nothing manually. There is a an update for 6.4.When installed you can go to the SS setup and tick whether you wanna play RR with AoR enabled or disabled.

I installed the little submod in that link, but it still doesn't seem to have the option that I want. I want to have RR enabled but disable AoR. The options that mod adds both involve disabling RR and if you also want to disable AoR or not. As far as I was able to tell, there is no "Enable RR, disable AoR option". I really do not want to resort to doing this manually by editing files.

    Code:
    recruit_pool "Armats" 1 0.13 1 0 requires factions { spain, england, portugal, } and event_counter new_era_begins 1 and not event_counter pike_and_shot 1 and hidden_resource aragon or hidden_resource france or hidden_resource denmark or hidden_resource spain or hidden_resource norway or hidden_resource england or hidden_resource hungary or hidden_resource poland or hidden_resource portugal
The red part is the AoR stuff!
If you want this unit recruitable everywhere remove that!
You have to do this for every entry where this unit is mentioned!

Make a backup before you make changes...

btw: I bet you mean Baltic Spearmen...
