new rules for spawn armies?
The FAQ mentions the free-upkeep armies the AI can spawn but could someone point me to where I can find out where and when this will happen in 3.1? It seems to me this has changed since 2.1 and as Gondor, I was suddenly faced with a large magical army of Mordor upon taking Cirith Ungol. A full stack that with trolls, at turn 14, I am not quite capable of dealing with at this early stage while fighting back the regular forces of Mordor and Harad as well.

This stack is scripted and it appears once you take Minas Morgul. It happens every game, the "when" only depends on when you decide to take Minas Morgul.
I guess it's there to prevent Gondor players from rushing Mordor and bottlenecking them before they have a chance to really start mounting a serious offensive against you. I do believe that, if you take Minas Morgul and spawn the army and then retreat to Ithilien or Osgiliath the army will go north to fight the silvan elves or dale instead. This has happened to me in the past when I had to regroup and (much to my dismay) when I returned eager for another big battle I found the stack in Mirkwood (when I toggled fow to find it). This usually happens in all my games where I retreat back, if you remain in Cirith Ungol or Minas Morgul they will attack you however
