    Default Musketeers firing system

    To point:
I think musketeers firing system (fire by rank) works pretty slowly, so perhaps it would be time to improve it?
Im not sure if its possible, but why not make them "crossbowmen"=use "all fire" system! That way musketeers really would be important, know they are not very important.

    EDIT: Another question:

Why people think Romans (true Romans, Byzantines) are overpowered? In high and late game they not special, im playing as France and i can easily take them down! Its only historical they got better start, after all, Roman empire existed already 1600 yers.. (or 1400, then it actually started getting stronger)

To speed up Musket fire you need to go to the EDU and change this "32, 1, quality_musket_bullet, 145, 12, missile, missile_gunpowder, piercing, none, musket_shot_set, 700, 1"

Lower it to 200 oor 300 and their fire rate will increase.

Remove the fire_by_rank and see what happens. Musketeers are good for killing heavily armoured troops that even crossbowmen start to have problems with. They also scare enemies. Finally, firearms during this period were crappy, so it's not realistic for gunners to mow down the entire enemy army.

SS took out the fire_by_rank from the unit attributes. As the system works now when the second unit fires while the first is reloading and the third while the second is reloading, gunners are firing as effectively as possible.

The fire_by_rank was so buggy. The front rank moved to the back after releasing a volley If one of the gunners was killed the whole process would be .

The 1648 mod somehow managed to make all the men in a musket unit fire at once, maybe you can ask the developers there
