Empire and Napoleon problems

So, I had the "The Blue And The Gray" mod for Empire, and the "The Great War" and "Zulu"-mods for Napoleon Total war, but a couple of days ago i wanted to play the original versions. This did not work (Empire wouldn't start and Napoleon didn't have any sound), so I made the conclusion that it was because of the mods, and i started trying to erase all mod-files in their data-folder (probably shouldn't have done that). Now, i obviously didn't do it the right way, or just haven't removed the necessary files, because Empire crashes at the loading screen and Napoleon still doesn't have any sound past the intro-movie. Is there any way I can fix this? If not, is there any way i can uninstall the games and just reset everything to the way they were when i first installed them? And please, I'm really not good at computer-stuff, have that in mind if you want to give me a complicated explanation etc.

ok you've probably erased some vanilla game files along with the mod files..to repair this without uninstalling try verifying the game cache..to do this open the steam..click "games" and then "view games library"..you should see both empire and napoleon games on the left side..now right click empire, open "properties", open "local files" and then click "verify the game cache"..now wait for the steam to automatically check your game and redownload the missing files..after that repeat the same process with napoleon..then try to play game, it should work fine..if not then I'm afraid you will have to uninstall and then reinstall the games..hope I helped

Okay, I did that, and Napoleon is working fine, aside from long loading times, but i can manage that. Empire on the other hand is still not working, and perhaps i'll have too reinstall it as you said. But the thing is I have done that the last few days, and it hasn't worked :/

For both, did you delete the scripts folder and verify the game cache?
