Default The difference between FRRE & TFT

    Hi team,

Excellent mods & Excellent work! Thank you!

    1 question though:
It sounds like, based on what I've read that TFT and FRRE are different mods?

If this is true how do I download FRRE? or Am I screwed up in my understanding?

I've downloade the 4 campaigns of Caesar, Crassus, Pompey/Rebellion, Parthia already

    Thanks again!

No, no. FRRE is still in development, actually it's very close to the beta testing phase. TFT campaigns are what we currently have to offer the community.

While TFT is for 1.5, FRRE will be for B.I 1.6.

They are definitely different mods, and as Orb said FRRE is not available yet.

    Major differences:

TFT was built on top of RTR v5.2 and thus includes a lot of old RTR content/concepts including most of the units, the map, the factions, etc.

FRRE is being built from the ground up as a complete, stand-alone modification for BI, and is drawing content from across the entire community (with permission, of course) as well as developing a lot of new content "in-house" - including the units, the map, the factions etc. FRRE also has a dedicated historian with an astounding library of both primary and secondary sources for the late Republic. Thus the historic accuracy will be much more refined than it was/is in TFT.

    Thanks for your response Gents!

BTW, So does that mean that the future mod of TFT will be added as patches over TFT I or not?

    Thanks again, Hellas1 :original:

TFT 2 will be built from the ground up within the framework of the FRRE structure. It will NOT require the original TFT.

For the "current" version of TFT, there should be one last patch available soon (v1.92) and that will be the "final" version outside of the FRRE structure.

    Hope that makes sense.
