Game Close at I open RS 2

Hi everyone!!

I have a problem in RS 2
When I open the game the game come the picture of RS 2 but than its close and there is no error massage
please help me

same problem here, i have played this game before, but stopped playing for couple of months and when i try to run the game it crashes.

i pick a faction, pick the engine and run the game (no steam). the splash screen pops up but it just closes and the "Launcher" gives me not responding and automatically closes.

More detail! What OS, which exe, where is it installed, have you modified any of the options at all (graphics ones).

One quick thing to try, if you are on Windows 7, turn off aero effects.

-running with Vista
-I run with barbarion invasion and RTW but it is dont matter
-C/Program Files/Activision/RomeTotalwar
-No ı never change graphic options

-i think by which exe you mean which faction i pick? well it doesnt matter, its all of them.
-the game is installed on an external (so its like External G/Games Folder/RSII)
-no options were changed as far as i am aware of

and how do i turn this "Aero effect" off?

No I mean which exe, RTW, Alex or BI

Right click on your desktop and select personalize, then select one of the basic themes, it will tell you you are disabling Aero. You can enable it after but try with it off. I found that worked for me in the past.

and sadly the aero effect does not fix anything.

yes I am the admin and here is the install path

G:\GAMES\Mega TOTAL WAR\Rome - Total War

after installing Rome, i installed RS2 in a separate folder and once that was done i moved everything from RS2 to RTW and replaced all conflicting files.
I have played it before but now it doesnt seem to work now for some obscure reason...

I think things can simply go like this:
- Have a clean version of Rome here:
G:\GAMES\Mega TOTAL WAR\Rome - Total War
- Make a new folder, like

G:\GAMES\Mega TOTAL WAR\Rome Surrectum

- Copy all files and folders of RTW to the new directory.

- Install RS2 to the new directory and see how it works.

You don't need to replace files. What you should do is install a base (ie no other mods) RTW or BI/Alex, and then install RS2 into it. Usually, you make a copy of the RTW, rename it to something like RS and install to that directory.

so you mean i would have a folder inside the RTW and the launcher would automatically make the association like Kingdoms Mod foldered?
alright i guess il reinstall and see what happens.
i will update if the problem is still there.

Ok looks good.
Can you go into the launcher folder, open launcher.ini and copy and paste the contents here?
If that doesnt show us any errors, you may need to uninstall & delete everything, then reinstall it all again.

Ok I'd recommend uninstalling and deleting rtw & rs2.
Then reinstall rtw and play it and make sure it works.
Then reinstalling rs2 over it, and that should solve it
