Can you replenish crusader troops?

I just finished a crusade and have loads of good exp on my crusading army....made up of mercenaries and crusader troops (sergents+foot knights). Buy obviously after all the fighting the troop numbers become pretty small.

Is there any way to replenish troop numbers? Really would hate to disband them especially after collecting so much good exp

they are not available when there is no crusade, so I dont think its possible..

I only use it as temp soliders then i disband some of them are hella expensive

Nope, you can have for example as france Templar knights and dismounted Templar Knights

In a few select area's you can recruit templars/hospitallers/montessa, theres a chart for it somewhere you'd have to search forums. He means "Crusader Knights" "Crusader Sergeants" etc, those you can only recruit when on crusade and i dont believe you can retrain them. Best bet would be to merge or disband.

You can keep them if you want but you will have to wait till the next crusade, 10 turns after last one ended, to retrain them

hmmm, I have the same question as I started playing this mod like a week ago
IIRC in vanilla you can retrain your crusader foot knights (the ones that are available for hiring only when you are on a crusade) in castles/large cities (or huge, or I don't know, I forgot xD) even after the crusade ended, so maybe you can in SS too ?
if not, this is the best solution:

Yes I mean the crusader knights and crusader sergents that you can buy for during the crusades.

Hmmmm, pity c'os they look cool but they are super expenisve. Guess I'll use them as my suicide troopers in my next battle then....since I will disband them, might as well take some enemies with them

If you are talking about Crusader Knights, Crusader Sergeants etc. You can't recruit them. They are mercenaries and they show up when there is a crusade. To increase their replenish rate you should edit descr_mercenaries in data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign

Mercenaries are usually expendable.

And I wouldnt call them expendable...they are the perfect unit to use in the middle east! I always feel weird using native troops...

I have mergered my remaining crusader troops and brought their numbers to quite a good state...I did try to use them as my suicide troops or shock troops heading first into battle...against cavarly charges etc (I actually used them to charge enemy calavry - so as to engage them and hit them from the sides/back with my own cavarly)

In any case, these blokes really must have some guardian angels behind them.....c'os they helped me thrash the enemy and the regiment (although it's in pathetic numbers now) is still surviving!!

Ok I might want to give them a break....how do I replenish/retrain them when the next crusade comes? It works like in ordinary troops...have them in settlements and replenish them this way? I also read somewhere that there are templar longbows...wow that sounds cool....how do I recruit them? Unless the are crusader state longbows NOT mercenary-type troops I can hire during crusades

Yes, you retrain them like regualar troops. The Templar Longbowmen are only for the Crusader States.

If you can't retrain them like other troops, hire another unit and merge.

I'm not really good at moding so sorry for asking but could it be possible to make crusader units (even if you arent KoJ) retrain able ??? I mean if youre a catholic faktion which takes a settlement in Syria and Palestina, only in these lands...
Because even if they are expensive I just love to have them in this area, listen to some tamplar chant when leading them to the fight and shout "Deus lo vult !!!" when they charge
It would be historically realistic because the most crusaders stayed there

Are the montesa any good? Or actually all these religious troops are equally good?
