AGP 4x cards?
Anyone know if there's a good AGP 4x card out there?
I'm pretty sure I have AGP 4x, at least when I ran CPU-Z it told me that.
But I'm also pretty sure that you can't get a much better AGP4 card than my current NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200.
I need at least one with Pixel- and Vertex Shader model 2.0, so that I can play all new games (Hitman: Blood Money, TES IV: Onlivion and BF2). The only other option is probably to buy a new comp, since I'd have to buy a new MoBo, new CPU (if I buy a new MoBo the socket is likely to change) and GPU, which is what I need. I probably also need 512MB RAM more, so that I have a total of 1GB (1024MB).
My current specs:
Fujitsu-Siemens "some kind of own" MoBo
AMD Athlon 2400+
NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4200
512MB RAM
120GB HD
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live Soundcard OR inbuilt soundcard (not sure of which)
So, is there a better GPU to be had at these specs?

Re: AGP 4x cards?
Hmm, are you sure about that? I heard that there's no poin tin getting an AGP8x card for an AGP 4x port.
It's just a waste of speed/money.
Oh and I've read that article a while ago. So you suggest me getting a decent GP 8x card like GeForce 6600GT or better?

Re: AGP 4x cards?
yes get a better x8 card. it will give you all the benefits of the new GPU, but it just be slower due to the fact that you are on AGP x4
to be sure though, go into your bios and see if you can set AGP to x8. it may be that you simply have a x4 GPU on a x8 motherboard.

Re: AGP 4x cards?
K, thx
Should I try to overclock while I'm in too?
