I would wear my badge of rank with the honor and respect it deserves, because to me a civitate is what almost every user here dreams of, and to be given that chance fills me with pride. But I will not act arrogantly or with superiority to any member, because a civitate is a representative of the site and anything they do reflect upon the site as a whole. Now as a civitate I would have the honored privilege of being an officer on a great site and have the ability and responsibility to make a real difference on the way the site is operated by way of voting on amendments in the Curia and possibly rising in the ranks to be a moderator. It is also my duty to report any breaking of the site rules and never to break rules myself. I understand that as a civitate I am looked up upon by my fellow members and I promise that I shall be an excellent role model and friend. I would ware my badge of rank with the honor and respect it deserves, because to me a civitate is what almost every user here dreams of, and to be given that chance fills me with pride.
However, with these privileges comes great responsibility. I am to help the masses by consistently posting good and well thought out posts, as well as not losing my temper in response to insults, flaming, etc. and I am to act as of conduct befitting an officer, which is to be courteous to all members, not to spam, flame other members, or troll as a civitate either. It is also my duty to prevent spam, flaming, and trolling in all members by staying on topic, reporting offensive or spammy posts, and all around keeping the thread I am participating in on the right track without actually having a moderator intervene. I am to be active in the site and the Curia and have a good knowledge of the Syntagma and its contents. Should I commit any offences or any other unbefitting conducts contrary to the rules of the site I understand that I may be censured or stripped of my rank as a civitate. I understand that I am to be held accountable to any offences that I shall commit hence with and shall not be treated any less severely(in fact I hope it to be more severly as a civitate is supposed to be regarded as an officer and a gentleman and if he breaks the rules he should be regarded with the utmost contempt as if any one knows the rules he should), than if I were a regular member.
Thank you for your time.Originally Posted by King Henry V
Gentlemen, as some of you may know I have been a civitate for nigh on six months, half of which I have been elligible to nominate peregrinii for the civiateship. However, during that time I did not truly find anyone who I deemed suitable for the status of civitate. I did select one person whom I liked, however, I hesitated, as I was not truly certain whether he was really suitable, and that hesitation allowed another member to nominate him. I am by no means frivolous in proposing clients.
However, this has now changed. I should like to nominate scottishranger for the position of civitate, as I believe him to be a contributing member of great standing, who has never broken the laws of TWC and is always friendly, and who has shown twice the ability to write informative and well written articles in the Vestigia Vestutatis forum. (Brief History of the Medieval Cannon and Greek Fire) I believe such as activity needs to be encouraged with reward, and I know of no other reward to a Peregrinus than the status of Civitate.
I eagerly await the Consilium de Civitate's verdict on this matter.
