It doesn't work with the current version of RTW because it was rendered useless by the patches. As far as I know there is no other way to do it besides making a script for it and I heard that that doesn't even work.

So then its either start over from the beginning or uninstall the game?

Umm reinstalling the game without deleting the save may solve the issue, but the issue could be cause by numerous things so it may not, but if you have the time and don't mind it is probably easiest to just try uninstalling and reinstalling. If that doesn't work send me a copy of your save and I'll see if it can be saved with a little modding know how.

I am going program files -> activisim -> Rome Total War -> Saves..... but I noticed there is only 2 saved failes there then I noticed if I click my computer load the game double click that way that it shows only those 2 saves however if I double click the icon on my desktop it has the other 10+ files to load up going to the game that way...... I am not sure if I reinstall I might lose my saved games because of this problem....

Go to the Icon on your desktop right click, click properties go to the shortcut tab and see what the directory for that icon is, if that directory is different go into your program files or wherever and try to find that directory, if the directory is not different in any way than I am unsure of how to proceed, except maybe going to the start menu (if you have vista and up) and typing in %appdata% and seeing if there is are any saves within the Rome directory there.

one time on med 2 i was playing as the paple states and i kept killing the popes untill he was from my faction
