    Default Need some help

Hi everyone I will begin with saying that this is a wonderful mod but there is a big problem it is way to hard!

If i play as Dale i get my ass kicked by Rhun

If i play as Eriador I have to make ridiculus deals with the high elves or got to war with them to get the all areas i need to reform Arnor.

If i play as Gondor I start to lose my towns after about 15 to 20 turns due to mordor invasions.

If i play as OoTMM I start to lose due to the presure from both of the elves factions.

I have,t given the rest of the factions a serious try yet.

    My playing style: Strongly defensive
Capture an area map it out rebuild my army. Then move on. Until I have a good defensive line. Then i perfect the defending troops and build an invasion army.

The problem the economy is good and it works fine. Then the enmy get bigger and bigger attacks against me. In the end My economy cant support all of the forces i need to defend myself and i start to lose.

Problem 2: I get tierd of being defeted time after time and cheat goes better and I get bored becuse i had to cheat for it to go better so in restart.

This strategy works perfect on vanila medival and every other total war game i have played on vh/vh but why does it refuse to work on TATW?

what if i remove alot of the AI unfair advantages or add so I have them to. Does it make it to easy instead of being to hard?

What is the best way to make it so it is,t to hard and not to easy?

If i made it on H/H on 2.1 what is the best combination to use on 3.1 so it dont get to easy because that kills the fun to?

VH/VH in TATW is, as lolIsuck points at, not the same thing at all as in vanilla M2. But be happy, you found a new challenge! Beging at easier levels and work yourself up (many seems to make this a matter of personal pride, not wanting to lower but get disapointed with the game instead, just an experience from the last weeks - dont fall into that trap and miss this great game!). Took me months to master VH in TATW 2.1 and VH there is no more than like H now in 3.1

Lower the difficulty to H/H. Also try playing as Rohan. They have a decent economy and are much easier to get going in comparison to Gondor. Plus Isengard starts off really weak and takes a while to build up and start attacking you. Considering your slow play style you might enjoy this campaign more.

Alternatively, you can play as Rhun like an earlier poster suggested. I haven't tried them yet, but from the videos I've seen on youtube they seem fairly easy, if not the easiest faction in the game.

Thx for the answer i will try Rohan H/H

As for slow playing style i think its much more fun and logic. I use fast assults now and then when Im happy with my defensive line. As Gondor that whuld mean Cair randros , west and East Osgiliath and all of the areas that Gondor start with+ the rebel area beside Rohan abit down the coast.

I always like the defensive/turtle playing style, but I find it doesn't really work well in Third Age. You really need to be constantly aggressive or else...

Maybe try playing Eriador again? I find that a turtle playing style isn't too bad with them, as long as you outmanoeuvre the elves quickly enough. The elves seem to make a beeline for the Shire, so just use your starting troops to conquer it quickly.

I never played with Eriador, so the high elves attack you? That's weird since I thought "good" factions left each other alone. Playing as Dale, Rohan or Gondor i never had any "good" factions go to war with me

No the High Elves don't attack you. But they do tend to make a beeline for some important rebel settlements that you need. This puts you in a tricky situation where you have to get the settlement from your ally. Best advice is to move very fast and take them first.

This or you can purchase them later. Just offer tribute of 2500 per 20 turns and after a first payment simply cancelt tribute. This has only tiny negative effect on relationships.

There are sub-mods to prevent good factions from attacking you when your playing as one of them. Or you could use the forced diplomacy mod to force the AI to play realistic.
