    ...or you could just remove your network cable and then run NTW! This works fine with S2TW as well.
    You can then put the cable back once the game has launched successfully.

    I suggest to run Steam in offline mode everytime you encounter a problem, as it might just be all about that.

    Damn, I spent two hours in the morning trying to figure out the problem. Uninstalled mods, edited preferences.script and user.script, removed them and all that. And then I tried to do what I said above and man I was happy to notice that everything is fine after all.

    Hope you all had better luck and didn't struggle with the game files for nothing.

    Thanks mate, it worked perfectly. However, I am filled with rage. I have spent at least two hours dealing with this issue and lost one day of modding. This is stupid and unfair. What if I don't want to participate in the beta? Anyways thanks for spreading the word.

    No problem the thanks should go to my mate Risquard for finding this fix.The rage i feel as time and time again not a word from CA and it is left for us (the community) to sort out But we did it wahaaaay

    I had the same problem yesterday. First I thought it was antivirus program which was causing this, but looks like it wasn't. Now it works while when playing online as well, so no need to remove the network cable anymore.
