Default PASSED 08.06.06: Ragabash for Civitates (Patron: The Burgundian Noble)

    Ragabash

Record Report: Ragabash is a member in good standing with no records.

I would have acces to Curia, specialized forum where civitates can exchange ideas, discuss governance related matters and vote for certain matters. Areas are Curia, general area for discussing and exchanging ides; Prothalamos, area specifically for proposing and discussing legislation and; Curia Vote, area for submitting proposed legislation for voting.

After one month of experience in the rank of Civitate I would get right to apply for Tribounos Elections, when there are open positions. There are other postions also open for Civitates, such as; Consilium de Civitate and Curator & Pro-Curator.

Simply it means that, me being a Civitate have right post bill for dicussion, when three Civitates, including at least one Patrician supports it, bill proposer can request a vote for it from Syntagma Curator.

You could say shortly that Civitates have right to vote and discuss matters that affect forums, including right to apply certain positions and if chosen affect forums more directly.

    Duties:

#1 Respect others. Simple as that.

#2 Behaviour, for me being a Civitate means a person who doesnt go into flame wars, disregard others opinions or insult people or groups.

#3 Encourage to civil and good behavior in debates.

#4 Notification of strong insults and bad behavior should be reported to higher ranks.

#5 Shine The Burgundian Noble's boots every morning in hope he wont eat you

I hope I understood this right, if not, I must have made a fool of myself.

And sorry about my english, as it's not my native language writing something complex like this is kind of hard.

In addition to these, he is also helping out with the RPG design (unfortunatly you won't be able to see his posts in there; as I set it (when I was a Consul)so only Triumvirs & members of the design group could, but I can assure you that he is extremly helpful)

In short; he is the ideal Civitate.
Now I'll just have to sit back and hope that Asterix does not Ostrakon me for breaking some Syntagmal statute of needing to put more than 3 verbs in the second sentence of the last paragraph if the word 'Consul' is included.(excluding e's)

Because we have a neat little system which means we can only start polls on 8th-14th & 22nd-end of each month. Snazzy, eh?

Actually, looking at the system I'm not even allowed to put people to vote until tomorrow.(OMG1!1ONEONE!1HAXZZORZ)

    Blame the Civs.

bah...in my day it was so much easier... none of this bloody weeks nonsense. eh? eh? eh?

we should probably start some kind of revolt against the Syntagma rules... they're bloody annoying. Somebody should write an ammendment.

Well, when A Sen.S member happens to look in they can post the user notes.

    As for the link...

Members List ---> Insert 'Ragabash' ----> Search Members List

    Easy. :original:

But since everything has to be nice & structured to the minutest detail, I'll add it in. Happy?

I will start the Poll on the 1st or 2nd... at this stage the CdC does not have a lot to do.... so its fine.

Lets try to work out working procedures instead of trashing the place straight away

Revolt? I'm in, I'll see what I can propose.

A civitates with Political ambition, knows the Syntagma.
After one month of experience in the rank of Civitate I would get right to apply for Tribounos Elections, when there are open positions. There are other postions also open for Civitates, such as; Consilium de Civitate and Curator & Pro-Curator.
He will be interesting, and thus get my blessing into the family

    And my vote!

    Well spotted TBN.

Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

I would also argue that world would be filled with madmen if we lived in atheist world. Its common mistake to think that atheist are immoral perverts who dont carry any moral values. Nations would have same way laws and wars would be fight in same manner as we have them today. Very little would be different I guess. Propably we wouldnt have so much intolerance and hatred as we have today if we lived in atheist world. Religions are propably world biggest cause of intolerance and hatred. It also causes superior feelings to certain people that causes violence and hatred inside societies. Most likely humans would fill void of faith with science or something similiar. We can see that happening in fact today. More people are throwing away old believes and start look at sky and space for answers they need (No, I dont mean aliens or anything like that).

Sports and religions share more then you might think at first.

    Example:

Football is meant to be power that unites people. Go to football match and you can see its not uncommon to see violence erupt between two different team fans. Same goes for religions, but only in bigger scale. Even if religions teach tolerance, love etc. they are still great cause for wars, intolerance and misery. Im not saying there wouldnt be any wars in atheist world, but wouldnt have meaningless holy wars that lead no where, but deeper into hatred or oppression of religions minorities.
(Hmph I reckon he took that example from me and my discussion with tostig but... )

Definite participant in the curia as pointed out by LV.

Is willing to express his thoughts clearly in a statement not a one liner as the above example shows

Is active in many or all parts of the community I noticed

No user notes, no flames subtle or otherwise.

    Seems fairly intelligent

I am not seeing anything negative about this person. I am leaning towards a definite yes.

EDIT: A minor unrelated point. I always thought the neccessary inclusion of supporting paragraphs for the proposed civitates was a good idea. By which I mean the prospective patron searches out the most notable posts. Just a thought.

    I did post a paragraph.

I suppose I could have a look through his posts for the better examples though.

I wasn't talking about his application to be a civitate I was talking about examples of posting style in the forum.

Or did you post one and I am blind? If so I'm sorry I'm posting while knackered.

I am not the system. I am not the system. Poll will be put up when its time... we agreed and the Senatorii will have no special privileges.

Added the user profile link and clean sheet certification to the lazy-senatorii's post. The lethargic old boys can't even bring themselves to put up a user profile pfffft.

lol i dont appreciate all this talk of revolution, if you dont like the law you should have protested at the time

anyway, Ragabash looks like an ideal candidate to me - active, good contributor, no warnings, seems polite, knows what he's talking about as far as history goes. Very good member considering his relatively few posts. I liked his activity in the ancient coins thread in particular i must say, interesting thread.

I will likely vote yes at the correct time unless evidence is lead to convince me to do otherwise.. i couldnt find any myself.

    *reffering to poll option*

    Why can't I vote yes?!??

As a member of the CDC I consider him to be a worthy candidate - thus why I am patronising him.
