NTW won't start up...

I start Steam up then start up NTW, and i get up to the start screen and it just stays there. When I got to task manager 5 min later, it says NTW isn't responding. I've played a total of 150 hrs and played earlier today.

1. Verify the ggame cache.
2. Delete the clientregistry.blob.
3. Has your antivirus/firewall/router done an update during or since the last time you played?

I also checked the game integrity. Steam said one file failed to check out correctly and re-downloaded that. After the re-download, NTW still would not start.

This is crap!!! Game was fine a few hours ago now same problem as everybody else.

It has something to do with steam. If you disconnect your internet, start steam, start NTW and then connect to the internet-you can play. Something has gone awry here!

In the Program Files (x86)\Steam folder.

deleted the client registry blob. now when I attempt to start NTW, steam says "this game is currently unavailable, please try later..."

WTF...

Actually, it says that for all games. Had to put the client registry blob back. At least MTW 2 is able to start.

Its something to do with steam's servers because when I enter offline mode the game launches just fine, but it doesn't work when online.

You're not the only one mate, I've nearly 500 hours and it's happening to me at the moment.

The funny thing is, it was working like a few hours ago, I turn it off for a little while, then went back and it won't load, its really annoying.

Same thing here. Nappy does not start tonight. Was playing away happily just last night.

Having the same issue . . . hope Steam get's their servers working quick . . . the definite downside of Steam.

I switched to S2. At the start, it seemed like the same issue: stuck, forever, on the first loading screen, but then it progressed and the game worked fine. Drop-in battle finder though seemed to slow the campaign map to a crawl.

Same problem, but empire is OK.

It seems, the problem still has not been fixed. However, I discovered one does not need to disconnect internet to get NTW to start. Starting Steam in offline mode allows NTW to launch (it takes a while to get past the copyright screen, way longer than normal, but it does start).

Still, I like to play NTW online. Hope they fix this.

If you pre-purchase fall of the samurai, everything works fine again.

Just wanted to start an uprising lol.

Same here with a fresh install of NTW and Darthmod 2.1 updated game( with 3 files failing) cache still not responding at launch.

I'm rather relieved to find out this isn't just me... I'll keep screwing around and hopefully Sega/Steam can get this fixed.

Edit - the solution posted on the official forums worked for me - in Steam options, opt into the Steam beta program, restart the Steam client, and the game will run.
