    Default [QUESTION].pack files ?

I'm sorry for my noobishness but I just bought STW2 4 days ago because I was always a big fan of it since I was a little boy . So what I made is I just gave my units XP levels which worked and also skills for my ninjas.

Now to my question. I don't really understand how it is possible to pack and unpack the .pack files ... and I also don't know where they are located :S I mean I KNOW IT but which of them is of use .

What I want to do is to change the range of fire of a unit .

    Thanks for you attention.

All of the .pack fles in your Shogun 2 Data folder is in use. They are loaded one after another depending on the .pack file type.

The most relevant file is currently patch14.pack (the latest patch pack) which has many files that are also in previous versions, the patch14.pack files then overrides the previous patch.pack files.

Do not edit the original .pack files.

    1. Open patch14.pack and export the projectiles table (sic) (here you can edit the projectile ranges, i.e. for matchlock units).
    2. Once you've exported the file from the patch14.pack, create a new .pack file, call it yourmod.pack for instance and import the file you exported from patch14.pack.
    3. Make your changes to the projectiles table you've imported that you want. (If you don't know what projectile to edit, you can find out by looking at units_stats_land table, ranged units have a projectile associated in one of the columns).
    4. Make your mod type 'movie' and save your pack.

Then place it in the Shogun 2 Data folder.

You use the Pack File Manager program to do all of this.

Thank you for your fast reply. A very good explanation. I experimented with the PFM after I made the post and I guess I broke my game O.x . So I have to reinstall it.

    Thank you again .
