English Translation Download problems

Right, I seem to have a problem downloading the English Translation for 1.5. The stupid site asks for some characters at the very bottom in tiny writing. I write in the displayed characters, click the green down arrow button and it does.....nothing. As far as I can tell it refreshes. That's it. I had the same problem downloading the actual mod so I used the other downlaod directories but there does not seem to be another directory for the translation.

I just realised the installer has an english version............

But before I shrink away in humiliation, will I need the english translation?

Yes you will need the english translation for 1.5, the mod is in russian regardless of what option you choose from the installer. I'm not sure what to make of your problem, are you downloading from this topic http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=415508 ? If so, try the GameFront mirror (the second one in the first post), it downloads normal for me after the regular 5 sec waiting time. Also don't forget to use Poxo's translation for historic_events from the second post in the same topic.

Also, there seems to be something wrong as everything in the game is still in russian. The descriptions, the city details and the unit names still seem to be in russian.

You can kill the installer music by muting the installer from windows volume control, that's the only way as far as i know.

As for text still being in russian, it seems that you did not put the files in the correct folders and replaced the russian files. Did you follow the instructions noted by Grand Admiral Thrawn in the second post?

1)Extract the "text" folder to your "Call_of_Warhammer" "data" folder. Say "Yes" or "Yes to all" if asked to overwrite.

2)Extract the "descr_strat.txt" to your mods\Call_of_Warhammer\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign folder. Say "Yes" when asked to overwrite.

3)Extract the "descr_quotes_lookup.txt" to your mods\Call_of_Warhammer\data folder. Say "Yes" when asked to overwrite.

Just try to download the .zip from his post and make sure to follow above mentioned instructions. All of the files from the first post are already contained in his .zip, i was not aware of that when answering your question earlier but assumed he only posted the missing historic_events.txt which i took from Poxo's translation manually.

I did all that about three times, but just in case i'll redo it slowly and see what happens. I have copied all the files and then placed them in the places specified, I clicked yes and as far as I know should have replaced the other files. Now going for a test run.

Hmm...yea, something definitively went crazy wrong with translations, parts of the text are in english and others are in russian. I really don't know how to solve this, the only thing i can recommend is to uninstall the mod, delete the remaining folder, install a fresh copy and then try to apply the translation over that, using the .zip Grand Admiral Thrawn provided.

Alternatively, try the translation from the first post from that topic and grab only historic_events.txt from Poxo's beta translation fond here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=515488

Other than that, maybe some of the senior members can help you out, this is getting a little over my league. Good luck!

Thanks, I want to get some other opinions however since Ive already tried to re-install the mod about two times already.

Bizarre this problem is. You should have everything in English and yet some texts are still in Russian or there aren't any text at all. Some changes can only be seen after you start a new campaign game. And what about the unit descriptions - are they in Russian or English?
