Default Future focus for third age?

Hello dear community. I would like to know if someone of you out here knows what focus the developers will have in the future for Third age?

(I dont want to sound unthankfull because the last version was released not long ago and this is beautifull work so far!!!! )

I heard of the rumor that the silvan elves are beeing redone and of the reemerging new evel faction of Agmar?

Are more units planed for all factions in future patches, now that the custom settlements are done? Would be interesting because i think gondor has the most units of all factions.
If so more units especially for rhun would be nice.

Or can we expect more custom settlements and more finetuned balancing?

Are there plans to introduce more settlements on the map maybe in the far north. I think that there already are some new settlements on the map gondor has one more city.

I also read in the forum that there should be more diversity for all the orc factions since they feel all very similar to play with (except isengard). And I agree that would be very nice.

I can't speak for King Kong, since he is God. He produces and decides the most for Third Age. I believe that yes there will be more custom settlements and more tweaks. There are likely to be additions and incorporations of current submods to improve the rosters.

Regarding new factions, there are some ideas among the devs. But it is a hotly debated subject. I get the feeling that KK will only add factions to improve gameplay, since the AI handles smaller factions better. Separating the orcs into two factions was an idea/action that may have inspired a similar approach to the Silvans. I cannot confirm any such plan, I can honestly say that no dev has started any work on that, which I have seen.

When The Hobbit film comes out I am certain that new inspiration will lead to new units. There will be a large feature of Dale in the films, which is the main human role in the book/films, so I think they will get an overhaul. There will surely be a custom settlement for Thranduil's Halls, Laketown and other places that will feature in the films.

    So, hope this helps.

Indeed, angmar was the only good feature in BFME 2 ROTWK, and I really liked the concept of those evil men in a more sophisticated manner than barbarian.

I think KK stated in his interview that he was planning to make dale, escaroth and erevor before the hobbit release, bcause he did not wanted to wait. So we can excpet those settlements in less than a year.

I think a rework of the OoM and OoG faction was considered, especiallyfor the OoM. I'm less sure about this though.

The sylvan elves are also beeing redone as we are speaking ( I think).

My question is: Are custom settlements like Helms Deep, that do not function well when 2 armies attack at once, is there any remedy for this problem? Such as making both armies attack from the same side?
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.

no there is not for now, I did heard of something, but i'm really unsure, it was about changing the deployement area manually. But to this date, nobody never released of fix, so I guess it's really diffcult to make. It's planned in the next release, to fix those kind of bugs, along with many others associated with custom settlements.

Leo.civil.uefs already created a great looking esgaroth. It is just a matter of implementing it ingame. Im curious to know if KK and DA created any new settlement after the release of 3.1. I would be glad if we could have smaller more frequent patches instead of waiting for a big release. The new settlements really are cool and Im really anxious to play on some new ones.

the third age team and excellent modders should focus its efforts on new exclusive units.
for example a royal marine corps for gondor,a shock corps with heavy infantry, light infantry etc, with 4 or 5 new units, there is already one made based in pelargir, but one unit is not sufficient to form a corps of marine, these units all based in pelargir city only, not recruitable in any other city of gondor.
pelargir recruitable only units troops of the royal corps of marine of gondor and not other units of the regular army of gondor, only troops of the royal marine.
dol-amroth as semi-autonomous principality within the kingdom of Gondor, must have his own units troops also 3 or 4 new units maybe sufficient with the two units that are made.1 exclusive unit for dol-amroth of marines also, because dol-amroth have his own ships, two new marines units is good for dol-amroth.
dol-amroth not recruitable units of the regular army of gondor in this city.
exclusive troops also for the cities of lossarnag and lamedon.
more units for mordor, especially orcs militia and regular units to provide feeling that has huge horde mordor of cannon fodder.any exclusive unit for mordor based in dol-guldur,minas morgul,barad-dur and any other important cities of mordor also.
more units for rhun, becasuse rhun is a confederation of nations, balchots, variags etc.
rework all units of silvan elf.
rework all units of rohan, with the level of units that have the mod, rohan units must be rework also.
rework all units of snaga and and differ from the different factions Snaga orcs.
    more new units for harad.
more exclusive cities as dol-amoroth and pelargir.
events, historical events and more informative events for give inmersion and deep to the campaing.
more event videos in the campaign.
better music for the campaign, maybe of the films or seek epic music more appropiate, for example the mod lotrtw based in rome totalwar harad music have a song very good in the map campaign, this song is called something like sully, would be good to see added this song to the faction of harad in this Mod of third age.
the lair of shelob for script and other monsters as the spiders of black forest and the white spider other important monster as shelob.

more units for isengard, for example the famous half-orcs of the white hand orcs of saruman, main core of the army of isengard, saruman never used uruk-hai and great numbers in his army and new dunlendins units.
add rebels orcs units in the rebels cities in itillien and other cities of the middle earth influenced by the presence orc.
rework all rebels and bandits units in rebels cities not more medieval troops as rebels or bandits.
more nobiliary and military titles, special objects and weapons for the generals.
the nobiliary and military exclusive titles with his owns shield of boromir, imrahil and faramir is excellent,is necessary more titles for all important generals of all factions with exclusive shields for every military or nobiliary title as the titles of boromir and faramir.

Wow that looks very interesting! Where do you got this picture from. I guess this is still work in progress.

By the way on you tube threre is a video of baron's mod of third age total war he has a faction called The wild men of duneland in the mod.

These are apperantly some dudes that got banned by Rohan.
Maybe that would be a nice future faction. They could become the dunedians of the evil factions I mean they start as the wild men of .. and than at some point when certain progress is achived they can transform into the kingdom of agmar. (But don't quote me on that because I havend read all the books of The lord of the rings, so I'm not sure if this faction would be appropriate to transformm into agmar).

Or are the orcs of gundabad the correct faction to be agmar?????

I think they will try to improve the graphics even more with more detailed units and of course new settlements.
They have already included better water, skies and ground textures i thinks the next step will be somethink like this:

This mod will sightly increase the distance at which trees model are rendered in the battle map before showing a sprite and will greatly increase the distance at which small vegetation and rocks will be rendered in the battle map.

You need to have Vegetation settings at highest for this to work.

Jesus was nailed at the cross, Thor has got a hammer. Any questions?

Baron's mod does not have dunland. Should be something else. They are certainly not evil dunedain and don't have anything to do with angmar.

FROME (Forgotten Realms of Middle Earth) has them. The main problem with including them would be IMO that their territory now belongs to Isengard and Isengard already has very few starting provinces as it is and quite a hard stand.

But I haven't played it enough to say how well Dunland works in that submod.

If something like the re-ermergance of Angmar would be included, orcs of gundabad indeed would be the fitting faction for that.

And there is a link to where the Esgaroth picture is from below the picture.

I heard of a submod that wanted to implant angmar faction, I don't remeber which.
I really liked their idea of a mighty mannish kingdom for angmar, and it's distinction from rhudaur savage and orcs. I hope it's not a dead project

It's the Heirs of Angmar mod. It will be implented in DAC, so it's basicly we who do the job
Under the patronage of Finlander. Once patron to someone, no longer.
    Content's well good, innit.

make isengard a 1 city nation would be epic to play as all they need is more money and pop and starting units thats it. but i dont think isen should start at war or even touch rohan till more like 3000 or near there. ssame for rohan they should be worrying about fixing there own lands and fighting mordor
