How to edit .pack files?

Hi Guys,

I wanted to make some rebalancing changes, but have no idea how to edit them at all.
Is there a program I need to get from here, or can they be opened with standard windows programs?

There's no need to worry about a tutorial for beginning, I like to jump in the deep end, as it were

You use this excellent tool:

Here's an installer:

But you don't edit the default .pack files. You export the table you want to edit, then create a new .pack file -> set type to 'movie' and import the table you exported from for instance patch14.pack. Your changes are then loaded and overwrites the default ones.

Easiest way to start after installing PFM: find a mod in the Mod's forums, download it and see how they've done it by opening their .pack in PFM.
