I played all 3 global mods for MTW2 Kingdoms, that i know - SS, DLV and BC. And my experience show me next some important factors. First, think, the most enjoyable and main thing in the game - BAI. We have many different BAI's, but not in one i didn't see next thing: every AI do the same, regardless of what Lord or Nation you fighting. Would be very great, if AI fighting in every battle different way, regard Lord, you fighting, hes experience and unique possibilities, and culture of different Nations.
Second, Lord's bodyguard after losing units in battle replenish automaticaly without any cost or need to be recruited in city or castle, its not realistic, and that way you get much (7-8) armies of heavy cavalry vs 2-3 in best case from AI, and you easily win every battle. And why there is no way to recruit bodyguards as usual army. When you get some general, think he should be without bodyguards. But can recruit, and "hook" (if this let the game engine) as bodyguards any army. Well, if he is general, he may be able to recruit heavy horse bodyguards, but for money.
Third, it is realising now and may be realised already in some mods, but not in SS, DLV or BC - the navigable rivers.
And another one. Regard of political system, all decisions you are making may be confirmed by the senate. For example, have you full autoritarian or some kind of republic system from start of the game, regard the historicaly aspects, you can to execute the decisions without any voting or depends of senate resistance, thus or you will get less popularity and chance to civil war, or more if you are conceeding with senate. And if you have enough autority, you can destroy the senate and became autoritarian ruler. Or you can make the senate for more popularity, but if you have poor autority, you decisions after that will be not confirmed by senate. Well, that is certain system, so its for those who really interested in.
