    Default Your biggest battle?

Currently in my game, if I attack France I'll be excommunicated, but they're allowed to attack me as much as they want. So they've just stockpiled a crapload of stacks around my two armies. Finally they've attacked. It's a 2v4 (3,071 vs. 4,504). This is by far the largest battle I have ever had take place in the campaign.

What's the biggest battle you've ever had? And I mean in terms of the sheer number of men on the field.

    Hi Sursion !

The largest battle I've had so far is in the Crusade against Antioch. My 2200 men versus an Egyptian army of 1800. Fortunately, I had brought a unit of Ballista so was able to breach the gate. Fun battle with all the pilgrims and religious fanatics storming the walls!

1500 Portuguese against around 9000 Mongolians

I lost. I was the Mongolians

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Nah just kidding, I was defending Antioch with a bunch of Spear Militia, Crossbow Militia and 1 unit or 2 of DFK. I still managed to kill enough of them to destroy at least 1 stack. And then next turn I took the city back with a bunch of Aventuros. Heh.

Battles against the Mongols and Timurids are generally the largest, especially if you're brave enough to face them head on in the open field. My largest in those was around 3-4 stacks of my own vs like 4-6 stacks of the Mongols/Timurids in the open field. The toughest possible battles in M2TW, by far, though still winnable with the likes of Russia, Poland, etc.

3,000 vs. 2,000. It was in my Sicilian campaign and I was defending Kiev from the Mongol hordes.

    Recently I won a battle with a 3/4 stack against 3 stacks... I guess I had around 1100 men and the enemy had +3500. I won .

I also remember a battle on the Crusades campaign. I had a stack and and a half and the enemy had almost 3... Won that too, but I lost more men than I'm used to (I was Egypt with a bunch of light infantry and horse archers, they were KoJ with their heavily armored knights...). That battle was remarkably memorable because KoJ had around 2 family members and Richard the Lionheart (they all died), and I had Saladin.

3 full stacks vs 6 stacks of Mongols was the biggest I've been in. That's the maximum number of stacks that can participate in a battle.

The biggest battle ever would my (personally considered ) legendary victory over 6000 papal troops with about 130 men - however, that was over the course of three single battles in a row during their turn, so I suppose it would not count as one single battle...
My biggest single battle would be when I defended Antioch with some 1500 men (venetians) against 4 full armies of Mongols (approximately 6000 men total).
I successfully defended the walls from their assault, only to lose the battle when I realized that I hadn´t activated the Battle Time Limit - hence leaving me no other choice than to rush outside and attack them back.
My army did manage to utterly crush two of their armies (one at the walls, one in the field) before I ran out men and lost...

Half stack of Silvan Elves lead by Haldir with a stack of Gondor reinforcements against 1,5 Isengard stack lead by Saruman and a Mordor stack.
My archers crushed them, Saruman got killed, I lost most men from friendly fire from Gondor's troops.

My biggest battle had involved around 15,000 soldiers. Don't ask me exact numbers... It's been a rather long time since then, so it's very, very hard to recall.

I had posted this in a previous thread before.

    EDIT: HA! There it is.

I had 3 of my legions (Prince, king and three other generals) on Kwarezmian soil fighting against the Mongolian foe, and in one battle I had one of my legions alongside two full stacks of Kwarezmian allies, against five Mongolian stacks.

It was the single toughest battle I've had in that campaign, it was near impossible. We had around 4000-5000 troops, whilst the enemy had around 10,000. I thought we were done for, but it was the single biggest battle of the Mongolian war, so I had to fight it. I found myself soon protecting a high-ground mountain against the Mongolians, my catapults raining hell down at their massive army and my archers blasting their foes to oblivion.

I had quite a few heavy infantry and spearmen units, and I placed them at both sides of my archer formation - Where there is passable terrain.

I stood upon a mountain which was impassable, aside for two passes directly to the top, to me, which were relatively narrow. I had crowded those with my forces and my archers and catapults stood between the passes, shooting and shooting. My Kwarezmian allies came from right behind me, and their archers helped me rain down hell on my foes, while their cavalry passed my lines to push down at the foe.

At the end of the battle, I had lost 250 men or so, and killed well over 3000 soldiers. My Kwarezmian allies lost together around 1500 men and killed something along the lines of 4000, along with two generals of the Mongolian army. That battle won the war, and ensured that no Mongolian scum would ever set foot in Europe. However, sadly, my Kwarezmian ally's two full stacks were left crippled by that fight, losing quite a few men, and I had to hold the fort for a significant amount of time before reinforcements could arrive, I was forced to assist my Kwarezmian ally in two defensive sieges and around 10 different outfield battles.

Crusades campaign, playing as Kingdom of Jerusalem. Main army was a full stack led by King Baldwin himself, against an AI Egyptian army of equal size. I also had full-stack reinforcements coming in controlled by the AI, so the battle was HUGE, but so epic lol. One of those "You had to have been there..." moments for sure

when i was Venice i had 3 full stacks of Stradiots and 1 general (dont ask ) against 3 full stacks of the mongol horde in Constantinople(it was a jihad). my stradiots fought off wave after wave but after some time the stradiots were pushed back and the reinforcement stacks of both Venice and the Horde stormed in. my men pushed them back once again and then it was 90% loss versus 90% loss. my men (about 200 stradiots and a general) stormed the remaining Mongols and managed to route all their remaining infantry before breaking and going to the town center. then it was about 90 stradiots and 10 general's bodyguard against 85 horse arches and the Mongol heir guard with 15 men. the Stradiots crushed and were crushed and i managed to keep the city with 98% loss(i believe about 50 men of the original 2400). did manage to kill 3 of their generals while they had 5 left .

That's a lot of horsemen with pointy hats. Every time I fight siege battles on the defense, the AI reinforcements get routed outside the walls. Then, they try to flee back into the city through the enemy's breach points and all get killed in the process.
