High Elves Unmounted Bodyguards. PROBLEM SOLVED.

Hello everyone, I want to try out a campaign as the High Elves but I am a huge fan of unmounted generals. I also believe the Elves generals would lead their men by example on the front line. So all in all I think Mithlond Nobles would be the perfect bodyguards for High Elf generals. Can someone whip this up really quick and post the txt. file here? I've tried doing it myself, I kinda messed it up. I only got certain generals to have them, not all of them including spawned generals. So again it would be MUCH appreciated so I can get this campaign started. Thanks.

As a side effect any mithlond nobels you recruit will be generals, you said everyone of even elrond and glorfindel are sporting mithlonds
I recomend backing up the originals, in case something goes wrong.
You should probably delete map.rwm

It is always a good idea to delete map.rwm when making changes to the strat map. The file is regenerated when the game loads. It helps with stability.

I think the faction will choose the first unit with the general atribute in the edu to be the bodyguard. This is probably why some genreals still had the old bodyguard. Just position the entry of the dismounted bodyguard before the "old" entry and you are fine.

It's a shame that you can't make it randomly choose the generals bodyguard from possible general units. Or cycle at least.

Withwnar had an submod which allowed you to switch the bodyguard units by yourself through an script. I don't know if he's updated it to 3.1 though...

if you upload those two versions of barons files then ill alter them for you, or i can walk you through it if you want?
Are there any specific scripts in baron that would spawn elf generals at any stage?

Go to EDU, add the general unit thing to Mithlond Nolbes and place them as the first HE bodyguard unit. If you want your starting generals to have the nobles too instead of the mounted bodyguard you'll have to replace the bodyguard with the Nobles but you could also leave them with their old bodyguard so you'll have at least some cav on the start of the game. Generals coming to age/adopted later get the nobles as bodyguard.

Strat thingy does not need to be changed if all regular cavalry generals are to get Mithlond bodyguards.

So you won't need to delete map.rmw (or similar).
Additionally it's savegame compatible.

If new game is started all starting generals are Mithlond nobles.
