Ok i've been trying to help a few people with crashes in 1.5 and also examining threads and logs to see what is going on.

Graphical crashes after battles: For some (i.e. me ) but not all setting the unit size to "normal" or possibly "large" helps. This according to another thread is because some of the newer models use very large textures, and imho the engine is probably struggling.

Unspecified Error: The one that seems most common - at some point during the AI turns MTW2 will just crash to desktop. But if you have your log active and go and look at it (if you don't know how to set your log - see the sticky thread on the subject in this section), it generally ends with something like this:

13:33:46.568 [system.rpt] [error] Unspecified error. The game will now exit.

Now i'm really not an expert on this, but this end to the error log appears time and again for many different people - so its either something to do with the environment maps (turning to winter?) or this TC_Undeclared_Attack - if anyone with greater knowledge than I can find this or look at it - well you'd be making a massive step in mod stability. Strangely, sometimes I reload the autosave and the turn will then fire successfully (hence why my money is on the Undeclared Attack being the problem but you never know)

Large Unit size - I've managed to get large unit size working (i.e. no crashes that say graphics settings) by dropping Texture quality to medium, Effects to High and Unit Detail to High. Potentially one or more of these could be raised to narrow down further which particular option is causing grpahics crashes but i'm happy that I can actually play battles now without it nearly always crashing.

End Battle crashes - There seems to be some bug when you exit a battle and the game trys to redraw the campaign map - it seems to be either unit banners or whatver should fire next after unit banners.
