replays are a important part of the game. maybe not for u, but for a big part of the community.
try to win a naval battle without rots units against rots. u has no chance. trought balance between vanilla units they are to expensive regarding to rots units.
it can be that they has adressed they implement naval-land if the figure out how. but as it seems they has figured it out for fots. so it should be in shogun2 also!
There is a major lack of attention being given to the Multiplayers campaign which according to me is their best feature.
Things you can do to help it from desyncing.
- Play your campaigns in one consecutive session
- Play a short campiagn and preferable have it end in the first 50 turns
- Create a save every 5 turns(Not every turn)

Interesting...I have played 2 coop campaigns (one in Shogun2 and one in RotS) and we have always been able to finish them without technical difficulties.

How many turns did you play ? And did you used extensively agents ?
.
It has nothing to do with the saving frequency.. It has something to do wtih the AI turn.
AI Agents are increasing the chance for it to happen.
It seems that for some reason the game compute agents interractions differently causing desync. For example today during AI turn one AI monk was appread by an AI metsuke from another faction during AI turn. Everything went fine I was playing my turn when my friend game stopped to respond well no problem we reload the auto save. He clicked on en turn and this time we saw 2 diiferent result :
For I the monk survived for him the monk was arrested -> I attacked my friend fleet as i did long before the game crash and this time I was not noticed about the battle , we were desync ... the crash I m sure as nothing to do with it it s the difference of computation which are in cause...
simple solution -> at the end of the AI turn check both game data if their is any difference take the host one as reference and upload it to the guest ...
ugly fix but at least it would solve lots of desync...
Still can t understand how it could happen imagine CIV ( Civilisation ) with such thing happening well I still don t understanf either how they managed to have replays which are in fact re match as it doesn t show what happened during the battle.... Imagine that happening in starcraft , sins of a solar empire COH or red alert ect...![]()
just to show i m not lying check this thread which original topic was not about the desync but ...
i guess it s almost everywhere and definitly starting to make people running out of the patience they have left ...
i wont mind you know to have the fix BEFORE fots release

oh and yes it s on the first page of the steam forum ........![]()
My Internet connection in the evenings got a lot worse recently. I was playing a RotS MPC with my buddy and got an awful lot of desyncs. At the moment I am playing a Sengoku Jodai MPC as Hojo, 40 turns and not a single desync.
So it maybe after all game related as I still have that crappy Internet in the evenings thanks to Sky traffic shaping.
For the savegame exchange, if you do it manually (ie per e-mail), you can use my Autosave Backup Tool which makes a copy of the autosave each turn to have more to fall back to.
You can set it to only keep a certain number of backups to save space (there is no "keep every Nth save" feature though).
The automatic sync is a good idea. If the desynch issue is still present after FotS release, I can update the tool to maybe zip the files so they don't take as much time to transfer.

Well we will soon have the answer if the mpc is finally fixed for stw2
However I still need to know if anyone in the community know how to change the limit for the reinforcement system in NTW ( and ETW ) ?
We are currently enjoy a NTW mpc with 40 units per stack and it s awesome no lag even with a dual core and nvidia 9600M GT 3 years and a half old laptop !
BUT
the limit for reinforcement is still < 20 units.
Which means reinforcement Will arrive only when your 40 units army Will be down to 19 units.
Does anyone know how to change it ? Is it possible and where is this value ?
Could a member of CA answer This please I ll be gratefull ! PM me if you prefer .
