Stack spam limiter?

Hi, I was looking for something specific, and I haven't been able to find anything thus far...

I like to play SS with enemy battle strength at max. The result of this is that I usually come away from even great victories with a healthy amount of losses. I wish this meant that the battles I fight would mean more, but they don't, because unless I'm playing on easy overall difficulty (which sucks), the AIs can automatically make 4 stacks for my every 1, creating an annoying back and forth that saps my will to play very quickly.

Third Age:TW had this problem as well, and had a mod to limit the AI stack spam without gimping the AI difficulty. I haven't been able to find a StainlessSteel equivalent, though.

Has anyone here noticed something I've overlooked?

No such mod. Easy way to do so is use RR and/or BGR.

There's no stack spam in BGRV, i.e. no free army generator for the AI. Nor does the AI get a money bonus of any significance (about enough extra to support 1 low grade unit per settlement) and you can wage economic war because the AI is not topped up with money. However, the player is restricted in his troop production and the game is balanced for experts.
