    Default Is Britannia too powerful?

    Hi Darth

Every time I play, I see Britain has invaded the mainland by about 263BC. So, I thought I would start a campaign as the brits and realised early on, there is nothing to do apart from invade the mainland, except for a few rebel units and an occasional invasion.

So acting on this I changed Britannia Inferior, Trubus Silurri and Hibernia to rebel ownership, and therefore had to capture those before invading. After I had experienced a few rebel battles and an invasion, coupled with the reduced economy, I found it very difficult to invade the mainland.

What do you think, Is it worth making the brit campaign more difficult? Thus affecting the germans and gauls too early.

i play germans usually and i can confirm that after a few rounds the brits allways set over to sambrovia. and an wealthy londonium makes it possible for them to send massive armies frequently.
what i do as a player i just set over and take londonium from them and they are paralized and dont bother me again. i dont even have to destroy them because without londonium they dont pose a threat to me.
but i wonder how they are extending their lands if gaul and germania is controlled by the ai. they might become very..maybe too powerful i guess.

i also noticed that macedonia is destroyed early in all my campaigns (without my influence)
is macedonia too weak or which neighboring country is too strong?
if they are allways wiped out by rome/bruti i would find that allright because i would like a balance where rome is clearly superior and extends way more than their neighbours (gaul, germania, dacia, etc)

Britannia is a headache for me. In medium campaign settings it becomes too powerful. Maybe if I take from them some lands it will do the trick.

I suggest removing gold from londinium (there was no gold to speak of i believe anyway) and reduce the population growth, otherwise you will just dealy the inevitable by making them conquer britannia first, and after 20 odd turns they will be just as powerful.

In my current campaign (VH/M), Britannia isn't expanding, because they call a truce the round after they have declared war on Germania, and the process repeats itself forever. Nevertheless I don't think it's related to DarthMod since I've seen this happen in the vanilla game as well.

Yes I know that in hard or very hard campaign settings this is not occuring. But in medium since the AI is a little passive, the factions that have good defensive positions gain more advantage.

It happens in my very hard campaign

The fact that it occurs is a probability weakened at harder levels but not eradicated

I played as brittania on hard/hard to find out exactly why they're so strong and I've found a few issues. First of all, their trade income with just 4 ports on the isles is more than the income from taxes and mining combined. Maybe they have too many trade resources? Or maybe the temples can be scaled back a bit as they increase tradeable goods as well. I NEVER had a problem with money.. in fact.. I couldn't even spend it all, and as my denarii reached 200,000 by 230 bc I quit because it was just too easy.

Another thing I noticed, is that none of the cavalry units the britons have access to, actually require stables save for one weak type. I think all the chariots and noble cavalry should also require stables.

I also decided to autoresolve about 30 battles and noticed that my general's chariots usually killed about 600 men by themselves.. and more and more as they gained experience. They MAY have too many hit points or too high of an attack rating because even with a small band of soldiers numbering less than 400, and a general's chariot unit of 90-ish, I could defeat almost full stacks by autoresolving... and 90% of the kills came from the chariots.
