Cannot start RTW (debug detected, unload then try again error)

Hi all, I have been playing RTW vanilla on my laptop for weeks now with no problems, on an cd image of my legit retail copy, on Daemon Tools. suddenly one day I get a error message saying that "debugger has been detected, please unload and try again". I found out that ~e5.0001 process is running when this happens.

After lurking around, I found that this ~e5.0001 gets started with RTW and many other games for cd protection purposes by software maker.

The thing I don't get is Daemon Tools was able to circumvent RTW's safedisc for so many months, and then suddenly it cannot. What gives?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both RTW and DT.

Get rid of Daemon Tools and put the legit copy in the drive = end of problem. It takes a while but they usually do come back and bite.
