Mouse does not respond once on campaign map

As the title says, once I get to the campaign map the mouse will not respond whatsoever. I can move the camera with the arrow keys and bring up menus with hot keys and such, not no mouse. Cant even exit the game normally. It works perfectly fine on the main menus, though. So sad

I'm using win7 and steam and I've got it launching through steam as the tutorials say.

Check the EB FAQ for a first roundup of the features and the Frequently encountered issues if you encounter technical problems.

Concerning your problem you should start by loading up Vanilla and see if the same happens, if yes, reinstall. If not, run EB as admin and check your drivers.
Are you on a laptop and use a touchpad for mouse-navigation?

It would seem my entire installation is kaputz! I get to the main menu and it locks up, the Rome cursor is stuck in the corner and the windows cursor jumps around the screen...I can only get out my hitting the reset button on my computer

I'll reinstall everything and see what happens.
