you have to create a shortcut to your vanilla game and click proprieties on it and paste this to target box "E:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\kingdoms.exe" --io.file_first --features.mod=mods/crusades exactly as it is. this workked for me for the kingdoms moods but for a modified vanilla i recomend u download the retrofit mod and then make your modifications into the edu(export_descr_unit.txt) there it's far easyer. just google retrofit mod m2tw and youll find it on this site.

If modding a kingdoms vanilla campaign then give it a custom cfg file and add the IO command there. If modding vanilla then simply put the IO command in the default.cfg file and set it as read only type so that changes remain permanent on it.

These are not ideas but the only way to make the mod changes known to the game. Retrofit uses the same thing i mentioned. Anyways good hear it, enjoy your game.

If I want to edit one of the kingdoms campaigns would this be the way to do it?

    *I figured it out.

Yes download these bat files for all the expansions, put them in main folders of your expansion type and then simply edit the campaign as you wish and launch it via the provided bat file.
