Maps of Greece

Hi guys,
I'm new to the group, only joined up today. I just wanted to say I really love the maps of Greece on your site. The details are impressive! I'm just nuts about anything to do with ancient Greece.

well most of the credit for the mapping work goes directly to uranos himself

..however he will improve further the map later...so imagine how nice it will end up when it will be totally completed :original:

Well, all credit to you, it's a pretty good map. My only concern is that it might get a bit dull for the Persian Empire, only having big, open spaces, but it's very good nonetheless.

Actually, I think big open spaces would be more exciting. I really don't like siege battles so hopefully this will equal more actual land battles.

basically the persian faction has as man as 22 provinces in the game including the cypriot ones and the 2 in europe

also the asia minor inland provinces are not larger than the thracians, illyrians and etruscan ones...on the opposite they are more density in asia minor than in northern balkan

and its not boring at all, i have kind of balanced the strat already and i shall say that playing with the persians starting in 512 with a big army in the middle of thrace and having a couple of greek cities in the propontis area while keeping an eye to the rebels in cyprus and asia minor is very interesting to play with...u can actually do whatever u like with all that money and all those generals and satraps

basically all factions have unique thing (or more) that makes them interesting in the strat...when it will be released u will understand

as for many cities being very close to each other that doesnt ruin the gameplay IMO, because while u make sieges usually another army attackes the besieger and u play a normal battle
..also the superb detailed landscape and the interesting behavior of the AI (on land at least) ensures that the game is interested

I like the maps as they are, but if you can improve them then go for it. Although i hope thats not at the expense of other faction land. Especially cathage
