I couldn't find this one answered in the forums, so I apologize if I've missed it.

My Russians decided to betray Austria in order to get the required objective region, as well as several others that could contribute toward my victory. Despite a coordinated surprise attack that took 5 regions and killed thousands of their men in the month of September alone, they still show up as "Terrifying" in the diplomatic screen. Most of the troops I've slaughtered are no more than armed citizens: not terrifying at all, even though they've outnumbered me more than 2:1 in most battles.

So, is Power strictly a numbers game? It would be helpful to know when I've pummeled them into submission. Apparently, they continue to look at their armed mob and believe they're more powerful than I am (my Power is merely Mighty). Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance.

As Voltaire said "God is not on the side of the big battalions, but on those who shoot best" Personally i'd much rather have 1 unit of old guard, than 3 units of fusiliers of the line

Hmm, you sure about that? I'm thinking 3 regiments of line would probably kick the snot out of 1 regiment of Old Guards.

Quality comes into play, at least for my campaigns. During the Egyptian campaign, I had over 1200 militia in one army but the Mameluke's attacked me with a pure Mameluke cavalry with 500 camels. I had a 10% chance of winning even though I outnumbered them greatly.

Lmao. On the diplomacy screen, quality isn't considered at all.
