Total War: Shogun 2 freezes on splash screen (Copy right screen)

Okay, so here's bassicly my problem. The game gets to the splash screen (Copy right screen) where it says Total war shogun 2, etc. And it just stops there. It stays there for like 5 minutes, then the mouse turns into the little arrow/spear head, then the game freezes. And i don't know what to do from there. I never ever ran the game yet, have yet to play it. I tried a couple things to fix it;

I deleted .blob folder
Deleated scripts
Re installed steam
Re installed game four times
I updated all drivers (Or adleast i think i did)
I reinstalled the C++
Verified Cache integrity

Thats all i could find to try to attempt to fux my problem, here's my DXdiag, i hope you guys can help

I'm very eager to get to playing!

Try updating the motherboard drivers.

Try disabling the Mobiola wave audio Device in Device Manager. It could be conflicting.

My mobo drivers were all already up to date, and i Disabled Mobiola, the problem still persists...

Is it really freezing or just taking a long time load?

Do you have any mods installed?

When was the last time you ran disc Cleanup and did a full, deep optization of your harddrive?

It freezes/crashes. Let me take you through the process, i turn on the game, it stays on the small little copy right screen, then after about two minutes the little arrow/spear head comes on, i can move that little arrow every where but in this one space it turns into the regular mouse head, that's where the "Shogun 2: Total War has stopped working" is, only in that one place, i've tried keeping the game on for 40 some minutes and nothing changed, i was able to move the little arrow head around in the splash screen, accept in that one little place where the crash report is...

As for mods, i haven't even gotten to the main menu, i have no mods installed...

As for a disk cleanup, not in years, i probably have so much junk it, i've re installed & changed my OS about 8 times with this same hard drive, i may want to do a hard drive deep clean, though im not particularly sure on how to do that, can you direct me on how to do that sir?

My way of cleaning up a hraddrive,

1. Click Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disc cleanup, and delete whatever it finds. I even clean out the old System Restore files every so often, too.
2. http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_...ry_cleaner.htm is my choice. some prefer Ccleaner.
3. http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html The free version is excellent.

Okay, My hard drive is cleaned, and its still not working...

Did you set Smart Defrag to do a Deep Optizimaation? Mine takes about two hours when I let it go too long.

Hi! I have the same problem, tried everything. I bought it in July and since that time I have been playing without any problems. On 26th January I launched the game but I only could see a yellow logo. Have no ideas wtf happened. I can see lots of people who are not able to play the game normally. It looks strange.

That's when Microsoft updated C++ 2005 with a security fix. Start windows Update and see if it was installed on your computer.

Windows update says there is no updates any more. I updated everything. Does CA know that way a lot of people have similar problems? Do you know something? Where is Craig? I saw this guy gave some tips for people who had problems with launching in June.

I just did a normal disk clean through disk clean on my Pc, i tried installing one of the programs but it asked for money... Is there anything else i can try?

Microsoft has a free one Start > Accessories > System Tools. It is what I use. You don't need to buy a third party one.

Click Start.
Click Accessories.
Click System Tools.
Click Disc Cleanup.
Click Okay in the drive box that pops up.
Click Okay to delete everything it finds.
Done.

I have this issue also, takes 6-7 minutes to get past the first screen, though I work around it by playing poker on my ipod while I wait. Lol. It must be something many people are experiencing as I run nothing running other than Steam and have 2gb of RAM not even in use when Shogun is playing

hey guys pretty much the same problem. i see the splash screen and after few seconds it freezes and my pc restarts. i dont need disk clean up because my hard disk is fresh new. i try to do some things i read here but nothing changed.
any suggestions?
