    Icon9 Barbarian Invasion, Windows 7 64bit and MSS32.DLL!

Got myself a new laptop that is running windows 7 64bit, and felt like giving Rome a blast to see the game at max settings and huge armies.
I've got rome to install to play perfectly, but wanted to play a barbarian campaign. I can install it without no problems but when I try to play the game, I get the message 'The program can't start because MSS32.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem'

I've tried reinstalling the game but the problem still persists, I've noticed that the barbarian invasion files have gone into C/Program Files/Activision/Rome Total War, but not in the C/program files (x86)/activision/rome total war. Rome uses these files by the looks of thing to run.

I wonder whether that to make barbarian invasion to work that the data installed should be placed in this same folder, but upon installation there is no option. Or is this something to do with this MSS32.DLL file?

I'm at loggerheads with this, I've looked on many a forum for a solution and the ones available do not help. Is there no cure, due to this game being picky with the operating system on my laptop? I just want to sack Rome with a massive horde

Umm try reinstalling and again I know you said there wasn't but make sure you look as most games ask you before saving a a specific folder, but if that doesn't work just copy the barbarian invasion folder from the non (x86) program files and paste it in with rome.

Copied the relevant files, and the game starts...
Gets to the first screen and then nothing. Pressing anything just takes me back to the desktop with no messages about errors or what not.

Try it with the UAC disabled?

I'd recommend installing both R:TW and R:TW BI away from either program files folder (create a 'mygames' folder) and also disable the UAC.

I installed into a newly created folder in my user folders, away from the program files and it works!
Didn't need to disable UAC by the way.

    Thanks guys!

Hopefully this should help with anybody else in this predicament.

Well, most people suggest turning off UAC with Vista/7.
