    Default Install Error

    When attempting to install 3.0, I receive an error saying the following:

    ERROR: Setup was unable to find a valid Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms installation.

    Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod version 3.0 requires Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms.

    Setup Aborted.

    I have a Windows 7 64 bit machine, running clean installs of Medieval II Total War and Medieval II Total War Kingdoms 1.04 installed. Oddly enough, when I try to install the 1.05 patch for Kingdoms, I receive the same error, and have been unable to find a solution for that either. I should also note that I have MIITW:K installed in the following directory: C/Program Files (x86)/SEGA/Medieval II Total War

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    @AETelcontar
    Can you play any of the Kingdoms campaigns?
    In what folder is your Kingdoms.exe file located?
    Did you disable UAC before attempting to install the mod?

    @Stylix

    All of the Kingdoms campaigns work just fine.
    Kingdoms.exe is located in the path that I indicated in the first post: C/Program Files (x86)/SEGA/Medieval II Total War
    I followed the instructions for disabling UAC as well.

    Thank you for your quick response and support!

    I am concerned that you cannot install the patch for Kingdoms to upgrade it to v1.05. Although this patch is not required for the mod to work, it may explain why the mod cannot find your install of Kingdoms. I believe that your registry may not be complete/corrupted. I will suggest a few options:
    - Try a resistry repair utility such as regedit.
    - Uninstall Kingdoms and M2TW and reinstall again, try to patch to v1.05.
    The patch must match your language, geographic location and version (gold, standard)
    - Manually edit your registry. (you are on your own there, although I think I can remember reading instructions on this somewhere on the TWC forum.)
    That is about all I can do for tonight, it is time for me to shutdown, but will check in the morning and during the day.

    See this post for links to v1.05 patches:

    Thank you for the help, Stylix. I have already uninstalled-reinstalled MedIITW and MedIITW:K twice, to no avail. There is certainly something wrong, seeing as the 1.05 patch won't find the game.

    I will take a look at RegEdit (I've used it before, but I'm not very proficient at it) and see if I can find any posts that might help!

    Thank you again! If I find a solution, I will post it here.
