    Default crisis

im having trouble just started a new campagain playing as macdon on rtr and my econmy is in bad shape, im being attacked by the seleciuds, eygptians, carthage, thrace and illyan on all sides. my only connection between alexandria and memphis to the main area of my empire is by a long boat trip which takes me a while, i own all of greece and i cant expand becasue of constant attacks, the greeks also are blockading my ports and i dont have enough navies to deal with each navy

Well then, what i would do would be to try and get a ceasefire with everyone that you dont want war with, also if they accept get trade rights as well, that will help a lot.
If not much factions accept your offer of a cease fire, stay on the defensive. Leave your troops on bridges, mountain passes etc where it is easy to defend and take little causulties.
Spies and watchtowers will be extremely useful, as they can see long distances and can tell you where an army is coming from. You will have to keep on the defensive untill the attacks slow down, then pick off your weakest enemy. Spies will help you find a weak opponent.
And im afraid there is nothing you can do about the greeks, untill you get a navy that is. But atm a navy isnt your immediate concern. You will only neeed to build up a navy once you get sea trade routes, and that wont be untill you control Asia minor. Try and get a ceasefire from the greeks first.

the greeks are only on italy and the romans are moving down, after a few recnet victories by me at alexandria and at to of my northern cities the thracians and carthagians are put back for a while. i have trade rights with everyone im not at war with. i might get a ceasefire with illyans as they arnt much of a land force problem or navies they just keep blockadein ports

What difficulty settings are you playing with? Also if your running low on money just use the money cheat:

add_money_40000 = $20,000 (you have to restart the game to enter it agian)

But if you don't want to play with cheats, you better raise the tax rates, and maybe sell some cities/buildings that you dont need.

Erm why the hell did you go after Alexandria and memphis before consolidating Greece? When you have settlements way out on a limb your always gonna struggle

Hmm...my suggestion is to build up a large, powerful army, (or more) and use it to defeat the largest army in the area. With the factions, they'll usually send in only one or two at a time. It will take them several turns to send another one, in which time you can defeat your other rivals, and/or block their access route. When I fought against the Thracians, whom I had no interest in, my plan was to push them back over the Danube, where I could build forts and all to make sure that they wouldn't get through, since they refused my ceasefire offers.
I also suggest that, if you can, make peace with or defeat the stronger enemies, then finish off the Illyrians. They'll be an obvious thorn in your side...but be sure to leave at least one territory as a buffer zone between you and Rome, or they WILL come after you.
