    Default custom setlements

well i knew that in siege batles there is little space to deploy, but in custom setlements its even worse to kind of solve that problem i reduced the unit size but its still a problem (take imladris for example i prefer kill the enemy before they reach the setlement) i wast just wondering if a future patch was going to be made of this problem because its horible, i love how the setlements look but not so much to play in them.

and how come minas tirith is not a citadel... if i remember corecly in the books they say minas tirith is a citadel, and i though that minas tirith would be this awsome fortress with lots of gates, taking in count that there is 7 rings of the city (at leats thets what i remember) but its only a very big city and the only andvantage is those narrow streets

and wy isnt the center of the city at the top like in the custom battle

It is my opinion (but only an opinion) that Imladris was kind of a mistake. I have tried with smaller units as well and it is difficult to do. I think that that custom slot (if there are a limited amount) could have been used elsewhere. But that's just me. It's difficult to defend.

As for Minas Tirith, I think there are limits to how many gates and such. I was expecting being able to defend (as in, place troops on) the first three walls/levels. Instead, we can only put them on the first level, and because the city is so big, we can't adequately defend every section of the wall unless we spread the soldiers super thinly, and even then I think with a full stack we wouldn't be able to defend the gate very well.

The reason why there is only one gate is no game limitation, but a pathfinding problem.

And don't forget about the AI.... I think Minas Tirith is pretty good in balance now for both attacking and defending. With 3 gates the AI never not be able to win from you, and you would also have alot of trouble with attacking it.

but the reason sauron took so long in preparing the army to atack gondor was because it was going to be hard and he wanted to to win, so he gatherd a very big army to defeat them (if it wasnt for the reinforcements in my opinion minas tirith would be doomed) so its meant to be hard to beat, and mabie the ai isnt smart enough to win but what if sauron would call an invation.

but does that prevent you from changing it to a citadel?

and remember that the main thing i was talking about was of not being able to deploy in settlements? any coments on that?

I think it'd be possible to make them mannable(?) as well, but I'm not that familiar with settlement modding

No, I did not, although I would love to learn it. I'm trying

I guess you mean my generic orc castles mod. Those were just reused KK's settlements. I had 66 downloads in the ~12 hours it was on the first page. Too bad it can't be a sticky

Huh? Where is this mod? I want it.

Also I didn't knew about all those guys. It's cool so much people know how to make custom settlements

It is fully possible to deploy, I've played Minas Tirith lots of times in custom battles, with huge scale. If you change it to a citadel, the model will change, unless you change both the size for Minas Tirith and the settlement that actually uses 'Citadel' in the custom settlement culture if I understand it correctly.
